Description
School-aged Grandparent Saturday helper wanted – Lower Hutt
We're looking for a school-aged parent helper who is fit, strong, attentive and flexible. Your first language will be English, and you'll be comfortable using te reo Māori words. You'll need to enjoy active play, be confident keeping a close eye on an energetic toddler as he moves around, feel comfortable in someone else's home and be available most Saturdays, 9 am to 1 pm. We'd love someone who can commit long-term.
You don't need to be fluent in te reo Māori. We do ask that you're willing to learn to use and pronounce Māori words properly, particularly our moko-nephew's name, which is in te reo Māori.
You'll be a playmate and extra pair of hands for our 21⁄2-year-old moko-nephew. He's an energetic little boy who loves dinosaurs, trucks, sand and exploring! He is very much the apple of our eye, so your care and compassion matter a great deal to us.
Your main role will be to play with him, keep him company and watch him constantly as he moves around. Our property has stairs out the back and some areas where he needs close supervision. We're looking for someone who notices potential risks, stays engaged and is willing to be an active helper.
My husband and I will be at home and will do the main caregiving. We need someone to be his companion and minder so our hands are free to get other things done. There may be some Saturdays when we don't need help, so flexibility is important.
The rate is $25 per hour. If this sounds like you, please get in touch and tell us a little about yourself.
