Night Steward / Van Driver

Reports to: Front Office Manager
Pay Range: $21.00 per hour

Job Summary

The Best Western Plus GranTree Inn is seeking a dependable, self-motivated individual to join our overnight team as a Night Steward / Van Driver.

This position combines guest transportation, hospitality services, overnight security, and cleaning responsibilities. Working from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, the Night Steward / Van Driver helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while providing reliable transportation to and from the airport.

The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, takes pride in maintaining clean and organized spaces, and is comfortable balancing guest service with hands-on cleaning responsibilities.

Essential Functions and Duties

Guest Transportation and Services

• Safely transport guests to and from Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport and other approved destinations using the hotel shuttle.
• Greet guests professionally and assist with luggage, arrivals, departures, and transportation requests.
• Load, unload, transport, and store guest luggage safely and efficiently.
• Provide information about hotel amenities, services, local attractions, and transportation options.
• Deliver guest amenities, packages, messages, and other requested items to guest rooms.
• Assist overnight front desk personnel with guest requests and other service needs as necessary.
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel shuttle, reporting maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

Overnight Cleaning and Stewarding

• Perform routine overnight cleaning duties, primarily in the hotel's restaurant and bar areas.
• Assist with general cleaning and upkeep of other public areas as needed.
• Complete assigned cleaning tasks based on hotel activity and operational needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
• Assist with additional housekeeping or cleaning responsibilities as directed.

Safety, Security, and Overnight Operations

• Conduct routine security walks throughout the hotel and surrounding property.
• Monitor public areas for safety concerns, suspicious activity, or maintenance issues.
• Report guest incidents, safety concerns, and maintenance needs promptly to the appropriate manager.
• Follow established hotel emergency procedures and security protocols.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members.
• Work closely with overnight front desk personnel to coordinate guest transportation, service requests, and operational priorities.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns, escalating issues when necessary.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to meet shuttle driver insurance requirements.
• Ability and willingness to work a consistent overnight schedule from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
• Willingness to perform routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
• Ability to lift and carry luggage and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Dependable, punctual, professional, and trustworthy.
• Previous hospitality, transportation, janitorial, or security experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to the right candidate.

Work Environment

• Work is performed throughout the hotel, including guest areas, public spaces, restaurant and bar areas, and outdoor areas.
• Regular operation of the hotel shuttle, including driving during nighttime hours and varying weather conditions.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying while performing cleaning and guest service responsibilities.
• Use of cleaning equipment and approved cleaning products.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be comfortable working independently during overnight hours while maintaining communication with other overnight team members.
