JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a client service culture and under general supervision, acts as a member of an integrated care team within a high volume Eye Care Centre by performing multiple ophthalmic imaging procedures utilizing advanced knowledge of digital-based photographic techniques and scanning laser technologies. Duties include preparing clients for ophthalmic imaging procedures such as fluorescein angiogram, diagnostic glaucoma, fundus, slit lamp, goniography, and external documentary photography; operating specialized and computerized photographic equipment; monitoring patient during procedures; reading digital fluorescein angiogram; monitoring equipment performance; and cleaning and maintaining of applicable diagnostic equipment.QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Graduation from a recognized program in ophthalmic technology, plus two year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to deal with others effectively.Ability to organize work.Ability to operate related equipment.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the positionThe hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
