Company Description

We are a technology-driven financial services company transforming how businesses manage and finance risk. Our platform combines deep domain expertise with modern software to make sophisticated financial and risk-management solutions accessible to a much broader range of businesses.

The company is building an AI-native platform that automates complex business workflows, allowing software agents to handle operational processes while experienced professionals provide oversight, approvals, and guidance.

Following a recent $45M Series B, the company is investing in its engineering team and expanding the platform's capabilities. The engineering organization is small, highly collaborative, and focused on building high-quality software that directly improves how the business operates.

You'll work closely with engineers, product leaders, and business users to understand real operational challenges and turn them into useful software. This is a product-focused engineering role for someone who enjoys writing code, shipping features, and seeing the direct impact of their work.

What You Will Do

  • Own features end to end: Build and ship product features across the stack, from backend services and data models to user-facing React and TypeScript interfaces.

  • Build AI-powered features: Develop production features using LLMs and agentic workflows as core parts of the platform.

  • Work directly with business users: Spend time understanding how teams operate, identify manual processes, and turn those workflows into software.

  • Automate business operations: Build tools for email ingestion, document processing, PDF generation, invoicing, approvals, and other operational workflows.

  • Develop integrations: Connect internal workflows with third-party platforms and APIs, including tools such as Harvest and DocuSign.

  • Collaborate on product direction: Work with product managers and business stakeholders to prioritize features, plan roadmaps, and identify opportunities for automation.

  • Build across the stack: Contribute to React and TypeScript frontends, alongside Node.js and Python backend services.

  • Use AI in development: Incorporate AI coding tools into your daily workflow while applying sound judgment about when to use them and when to implement critical logic yourself.

  • Maintain high engineering standards: Write clean, maintainable code and make thoughtful decisions around permissions, data models, and application architecture.

  • Take ownership of production quality: Help identify and resolve issues, improve existing functionality, and ensure the software works reliably for the people using it.

Ideal Candidate Background

Required Experience

  • 3–6 years of full-time, post-graduation professional experience as a software engineer or product engineer. Internships do not count toward the experience requirement.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field from a strong academic program.

  • Experience at a company known for a high engineering bar, such as Google, Ramp, Bloomberg, Citadel, Coinbase, or comparable engineering-driven organizations.

  • Strong full-stack product engineering experience, with the ability to work across frontend and backend systems.

  • Experience building and shipping AI-powered features into production using LLMs or agentic workflows.

  • Experience working directly with business users, customers, or cross-functional stakeholders to understand workflows and build practical solutions.

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and experience with React and backend technologies such as Node.js or Python.

  • Demonstrated ability to own features from implementation through deployment and delivery.

  • Strong product instincts and a preference for building and shipping features that users actively rely on.

  • A consistent professional track record, with reasonable tenure at previous employers.

  • Ability to work from the Flatiron District office in New York City three days per week.

  • Must already be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Technical Skills

Core Engineering

  • Full-stack product engineering.

  • TypeScript and JavaScript.

  • React and modern frontend development.

  • Node.js backend development.

  • Python.

  • API development and third-party integrations.

  • Data modeling and application architecture.

  • Production software development and deployment.

Relevant Technologies

  • Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript.

  • Backend: Node.js, NestJS, Python.

  • APIs and data: GraphQL, PostgreSQL.

  • Experience working in small, high-performing engineering teams.

  • Experience collaborating directly with non-technical stakeholders and translating their needs into software.

  • Experience using AI coding tools effectively while maintaining strong engineering judgment.

Working Style and Culture

  • Product-focused: Enjoys shipping useful features rather than focusing primarily on architecture for its own sake.

  • Hands-on: Comfortable writing code regularly and owning implementation across the stack.

  • Business-oriented: Interested in understanding how people work and finding opportunities to improve their workflows.

  • AI-forward: Uses LLMs and AI agents as practical building blocks and understands their limitations.

  • High ownership: Takes responsibility for features, production issues, and outcomes.

  • Collaborative: Works closely with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.

  • High standards: Values clean code, thoughtful implementation, and maintainable systems.

  • Low ego: Communicates directly, takes feedback well, and focuses on solving problems.

  • Consistent: Demonstrates commitment and reasonable tenure across previous roles.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $165,000–$205,000.

  • Equity: 0.025%–0.1%, subject to a 4-year vesting schedule with a 1-year cliff.

  • Health benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage.

  • Paid time off: Unlimited PTO.

  • Work arrangement: Hybrid, with 3 days per week in the Flatiron District office.

  • Visa sponsorship: Not available.

Why Join?

  • Join a growing engineering team: Help expand a small, deliberate team following a $45M Series B.

  • Own features end to end: Have meaningful responsibility across frontend, backend, and product delivery.

  • Work with experienced engineers: Collaborate with a team that values strong engineering fundamentals and high-quality code.

  • Influence the roadmap: Contribute ideas and work directly with product and business leadership.

  • Build with a modern stack: Work with TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, Kafka, GCP, and AI technologies.
