Description
Department: Machine Shop
Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Metal Business Unit
Pay Rule: Hourly
- Program, set up, and troubleshoot CNC mills and lathes.
- Support complex jobs, new product setups, and process improvements.
- Optimize machining processes, tooling, and cycle times.
- Coordinate daily shop priorities and workflow.
- Support, coach, and guide machinists and operators.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production practices.
- Work closely with operations and maintenance to meet production targets.
- Identify and resolve production or quality issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
- Will be required to support after hours emergency orders when required.
- 5+ years of machining experience (manual and CNC).
- Strong CNC programming capability (G-code and/or CAM software such as Mastercam or equivalent).
- Proven experience with manual mills, engine lathes, saws and associated tooling.
- Proven experience with CNC mills and lathes and associated tooling.
- Comfortable leading or mentoring others on the shop floor.
- College diploma in machining and/or 429A Certificate of Qualification.
- Proficient with using a PC.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Microsoft Navision Dynamics or other ERP system.
- Previous supervisory experience.
