Flask Repair Welder - 1st Shift

Description

Make welds to repair and or prepare flasks for molding. Produce high quality flask and flaskless airset sand molds on the No-Bake floor.

Job Responsibilities:

• Use welding techniques to repair or repair flasks for the molding department.
• Responsible for pulling and storing flasks and keeping them organized.
• Use cranes and forklifts to properly move flasks.
• Produce NBL/NBF (flask & flaskless) airset sand molds according to requirements on Daily Molding Schedule, SOP’s, Work Instructions.
• Conduct start-up inspection following Maintenance procedures including documentation requirements.
• Perform mixer calibration per Standard Operational Procedures as specified Maintenance and/or process control schedules.
• Inspect tooling as specified on SOP for condition, lettering, core fit, and close-up.
• Make adjustments to mixers as indicated on Daily Molding Schedule, Work Instruction, or as required during calibration.
• Set up jobs for NBF/Carousel molding.
• Conduct shutdown procedures.
• Perform housekeeping functions, as required, to keep work area safe and orderly.
• Prepare molds for pouring, including clamping and weighting.
• Maintain documentation as required.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

Basic Math (Calibration); Basic Reading (SOP’s, Schedules, Work Instructions); Basic Writing/Data Entry (Process documentation, data entry for shop floor reporting).
