Job Description:
About Airbus & General Procurement
At Airbus, we pioneer sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world.
Fully integrated within the Airbus organization, General Procurement (GP) manages the procurement of goods and services across the entire Group (Airbus Commercial Aircraft, Airbus Helicopters, Airbus Defence and Space, Airbus Atlantic, and Airbus Aerostructures). GP plays a pivotal role in generating value, preserving business continuity, and driving global competitiveness.
Our team consists of more than 600 professionals operating across 40 sites in Europe, China, India, and the US. Together, we manage a turnover of approximately €13 billion and work with over 15,000 suppliers worldwide.
About the Team
The Communication and Travel Solutions team (PJCTT) drives end-to-end sourcing excellence. We go beyond traditional supplier management to build strategic partnerships that directly enhance the employee experience. Operating across Munich, Toulouse, Madrid, and Lisbon, our multicultural team creates value across the entire supply chain by seamlessly integrating market-leading tools with internal stakeholder needs.
Your Role & Impact
As a Strategic Buyer, you will lead end-to-end strategic procurement activities specializing in Events Solutions and related communication services across a transnational, multi-divisional scope.
You will define and execute global sourcing strategies, negotiate frame contracts with selected partners, and design contractual setups that support a worldwide footprint. Acting as the bridge between internal business needs and market capabilities, you will lead cross-functional Multi-Functional Teams (MFTs)—partnering with Communications, HR, Digital, Legal, Finance, and Supply Chain Quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing Strategy & Execution: Design, define, and implement global sourcing frameworks and fit-for-purpose contractual setups for the assigned Events & Communications portfolio.
- Supplier Selection & Negotiation: Lead high-value negotiations and supplier selections, synthesizing multi-site requirements into unified, global decisions.
- Contract Management: Master the end-to-end lifecycle management of complex procurement and frame contracts.
- Market Intelligence & Transparency: Leverage market research and data-driven insights to guide strategic decisions and optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Orchestrate alignment across internal functions and contribute to commodity procurement strategies and make-or-buy policies.
- Innovation & Partnership: Cultivate long-term supplier partnerships to unlock innovation, continuous optimization, and business transformation.
- Risk & Compliance: Manage portfolio risks (assessment, mitigation, reporting) and ensure 100% adherence to procurement processes, safety, ethics, and compliance standards.
Your Profile
We are looking for a strategic, agile procurement professional who thrives in a dynamic, international environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 5–10+ years of professional experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, or complex commercial sales.
- Negotiation & Contracting: Proven track record in contract management, strategic sourcing, and complex commercial negotiations. Knowledge of large-scale corporate procurement processes is a strong asset.
- Business Agility & Innovation: Ability to evaluate varied business models, adapt to different supplier ecosystems, navigate digital transformation, and maximize commercial value.
- Relationship Management & Leadership: Outstanding interpersonal skills with demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, and motivating cross-functional teams.
- Integrity & Values: Absolute commitment to ethics, compliance, and corporate values. You embody our team culture of teamwork, trust, respect, integrity, care, and fun.
- Languages: Business fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of French, German, Spanish, or Portuguese is an advantage.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to shape global procurement strategies for a world leader in aerospace.
- An international, multicultural work environment spanning major European hubs.
- Continuous professional development and involvement in high-impact transformation projects.
