Job Summary - VP Physician Network Strategy and Partnerships
The VP, Physician Network Strategy and Partnerships is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and operational oversight of a statewide clinically integrated network that advances value-based care, and strengthens collaboration among the health system, physicians, hospitals, and community partners. This leader will drive the design, growth, and sustainability of the Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) through physician engagement, network development, payer partnerships, governance leadership, and performance improvement initiatives. The Executive Director serves as a key architect of the organization's statewide value-based care strategy, ensuring the CIN delivers measurable clinical, quality, financial, and patient experience outcomes. Working closely with executive leadership, physician leaders, legal counsel, payers, and independent provider organizations, this position will establish the infrastructure necessary to support risk-based contracting, network performance management, and long-term physician alignment.
Essential Functions - VP Physician Network Strategy and Partnerships
- Lead the development and execution of the statewide CIN strategic plan. Establish short-term and long-term growth strategies for network expansion. Identify opportunities for physician alignment and participation across markets. Develop organizational structures that support statewide CIN operations. Evaluate market dynamics, competitive positioning, and partnership opportunities. Recommend growth strategies including affiliations and partnerships when appropriate.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with independent and employed physicians. Lead provider recruitment and onboarding efforts for CIN participation. Develop value propositions that encourage physician engagement and alignment. Facilitate collaboration among primary care, specialty care, hospital, and post-acute providers. Support physician leadership development and participation within CIN governance structures.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute value-based contracting strategies. Support negotiations involving shared savings, bundled payments, and risk-bearing agreements. Evaluate financial opportunities and risks associated with payer arrangements. Develop strategies to improve contract performance across populations. Maintain executive-level relationships with health plans, employers, and purchasers.
- Establish and support CIN governance structures, committees, and leadership councils. Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with legal counsel regarding antitrust, clinical integration, and network participation requirements. Develop policies, procedures, and operating standards that support CIN objectives. Present performance updates and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and governing boards.
- Partner with analytics and informatics teams to develop actionable provider performance reporting. Establish CIN performance metrics and accountability frameworks. Monitor quality, utilization, financial, and network performance indicators. Use data to identify opportunities for improvement and drive action plans. Support benchmarking against regional, state and national performance standards.
- Develop annual operating and capital budgets for CIN operations. Manage financial performance and resource allocation. Identify opportunities to optimize shared savings and incentive revenue. Support development of sustainable business models for participating providers. Track return on investment for CIN initiatives.
- Represent the CIN in statewide healthcare collaboratives and industry forums. Establish partnerships with health systems, physician organizations, employers, community organizations, and governmental agencies. Promote the organization's leadership in value-based care. Develop strategic relationships that support statewide network growth and innovation.

- Required Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field
- Required Master's Degree MPH, MBA or related field
- 10 years of relevant experience leadership experience Required
