Description

Exceptional Healthcare is seeking an IT Manager (EMR and Support)

Why Work With Us?
We are a patient-focused healthcare provider committed to delivering the highest standards of care while fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture. Our team takes pride in adhering to the Exceptional
Promise
by treating every patient and employee with courtesy, dignity, and respect.

Reports to: Director of IT
Direct reports: 2 (IT Support Specialist, Information Systems)
Location: Dallas, TX | Onsite, 5 days a week (may start at our North Fort Worth office until Dallas space is ready)

About the role
Our EMR runs the business, and we're moving to a new one. We need a hands-on IT Manager to own the system, help lead the transition, and run a small support team. This is a working manager role. You'll lead people and fix things in the same day.

What you'll do

  • Own EMR administration: configuration, templates, user access, upgrades, and the vendor relationship.
  • Help lead the EMR transition: data migration, workflow build, testing, training, and go-live.
  • Partner with clinical and operations leaders to tighten workflows and drive adoption.
  • Run help desk operations, ticket flow, and service levels.
  • Serve as the escalation point for issues the help desk can't solve, including an after-hours and weekend on-call rotation.
  • Partner with the Director of IT on network, devices, cloud, and security.
  • Hire, train, and coach a two-person support team.
  • Keep access controls and documentation HIPAA compliant.

What you bring

  • 5+ years in IT, including 3+ in information systems management.
  • 2+ years directly supervising IT support staff.
  • Hands-on EMR or EHR administration experience.
  • EMR migration or implementation experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA security requirements.
  • A clear communicator who can train clinicians and hold vendors accountable.
  • Healthcare background a plus.

Why this role
You'll help lead a system change that shapes how the whole organization works, build your own team, and report to a Director who wants a partner, not a ticket queue.
