Position:Vice President, Center on Extremism, Impact and Strategy

Reports to: Senior Vice President, Counter-Extremism & Intelligence

Supervision: Directly manages senior leaders and teams

Location: Anywhere ADL has an Office; strong preference for New York

Grade: Grade K, Exempt, Non-Union

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

ADL is the leading anti-hate organization in the world. Founded in 1913, its timeless mission is “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” Today, ADL continues to fight all forms of antisemitism and bias, using innovation and partnerships to drive impact. A global leader in combating antisemitism, countering extremism and battling bigotry wherever and whenever it happens, ADL works to protect democracy and ensure a just and inclusive society for all.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Vice President, Center on Extremism, Impact and Strategy, provides strategic and operational leadership to translate ADL’s research and expertise into compelling, actionable content and resources that advance the organization’s mission and influence key audiences. With a particular focus on emerging technologies, online ecosystems, and the ways technology shapes antisemitism, extremism, hate, the Vice President will help define how ADL identifies emerging issues, communicates its findings, and turns knowledge into meaningful impact.

Working across the Center on Extremism (COE) and other ADL teams, the Vice President will identify high-priority findings and opportunities, help shape product strategies, and ensure that complex research and investigative work reaches the audiences best positioned to act on it—including policymakers, technology companies, law enforcement, Jewish communal partners, the media, and the broader public. The Vice President will provide strategic direction and operational oversight for cross-functional initiatives, aligning priorities, coordinating teams, and moving projects from concept through execution and evaluation.

This is a highly collaborative executive role at the intersection of research, content, technology, and strategy. The successful candidate will bring the judgment to identify what matters most, the vision to shape how ADL communicates its expertise, and the leadership skills to turn complex issues into work that informs decisions, drives action, and advances ADL’s impact.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

  • Translate research and expertise into impact. Establish a strategic approach for transforming ADL’s research and analysis into clear, compelling, and actionable content, products, and resources that inform audiences and advance organizational priorities.
  • Set strategic priorities and shape the agenda. Identify emerging opportunities—particularly those involving technology and online ecosystems—and help determine where ADL can make the greatest contribution through research, analysis, communications, and engagement.
  • Strengthen ADL’s influence with key audiences. Help develop content and product strategies that equip policymakers, technology companies, law enforcement, Jewish communal partners, the media, and other stakeholders with the insights and tools they need to understand and respond to antisemitism, extremism, and hate.
  • Drive cross-functional execution. Align teams around shared priorities, establish clear plans and accountability, and ensure that high-priority initiatives move efficiently from concept to delivery with strong coordination across the Center on Extremism and other ADL departments.
  • Advance innovation in a changing technology landscape. Help ADL anticipate and respond to the implications of emerging technologies, digital platforms, and evolving online ecosystems for antisemitism, extremism, and community safety.
  • Develop high-performing teams and partnerships. Lead and empower senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Strategy and Organizational Leadership

  • Develop and advance a strategic vision for products, initiatives and impact that aligns with COE priorities and ADL’s broader organizational strategy.
  • Partner with the SVP, Counter-Extremism & Intelligence, and other senior leaders to identify strategic opportunities, establish priorities, and guide resource allocation.
  • Monitor research developments, technology trends, and stakeholder needs to inform strategic planning and identify opportunities for ADL to lead.
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable plans, clear deliverables, and measurable outcomes.

Content, Research Translation, and Product Development

  • Work with research, investigative, policy, technology, and communications experts to identify the most consequential findings and translate them into accessible, audience-focused content and products.
  • Set direction for the development of reports, briefings, explainers, digital resources, and other tools that communicate ADL’s expertise and support stakeholder decision-making.
  • Establish effective processes for prioritizing content opportunities and coordinating development, review, approval, and distribution.
  • Help shape ADL’s analysis of emerging technologies and online ecosystems, including their implications for antisemitism, extremism, and hate.

Cross-Functional Program and Project Leadership

  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from initial concept through planning, execution, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Establish project goals, timelines, responsibilities, decision-making processes, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Coordinate across COE teams and relevant ADL departments to reduce silos, resolve competing priorities, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality work.
  • Identify operational challenges and opportunities to improve workflows, collaboration, and execution.
  • Anticipate risks, address implementation barriers, and escalate issues as appropriate.

Stakeholder Engagement and External Impact

  • Ensure that content and products respond to the information needs of key external audiences, including policymakers, technology companies, law enforcement, Jewish communal partners, researchers, and the media.
  • Partner with relevant internal teams to align content development with advocacy, engagement, communications, and other organizational priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to elevate ADL’s expertise, inform public understanding, and support effective responses to antisemitism, extremism, and hate.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback and evolving audience needs into content strategy and product development.

People and Resource Management

  • Directly manage and develop senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams, setting clear expectations and supporting professional growth and performance.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable culture that encourages innovation, sound judgment, and shared ownership of results.
