A Shift (United States of America)This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Under general supervision, the Maintenance Technician will perform a wide variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks associated with maintenance, troubleshooting, HVAC, Motor Repairs, Welding, Machine repair and modification to the plants mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and plumbing systems and equipment.
Applicants with experience in any of these skills and or related fields are preferred.
These positions may be assigned to work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment, these areas have slippery walking surfaces. Must be able to communicate well with others, comprehend Training Material as well as complete necessary paperwork as needed. All positions will require successful completion of Lockout/Tagout and Fall Arrest/Prevention training as well as all Maintenance Training Levels. May perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Ability to work in any assigned area or department, which may include exposure to cold, damp, hot, or humid environmental conditions.
- Maintenance schedules will be required to work outside of regularly scheduled shifts, including weekends, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, based on business and operational needs. Employees may be scheduled to work consecutive days as required by business needs and applicable company policies. I.E. Switchover
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, which may include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, move, or otherwise handle materials as required by the assigned work area.
- Responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and accurately completing all required documentation associated with assigned job duties and maintenance activities.
- Responsible for maintaining accountability for company-issued and assigned tools, including proper use, care, storage, and reporting of lost, damaged, or malfunctioning tools in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- At the time of Application Resume must be attached to Internal Application with Related Work History and/or experience is required.
- High School Diploma or GED from accredit institution is required.
- Applicants must have an excellent safety record and must not have any active safety violations. Active safety violations include Core Safety Mandate violations that remain active for 24 months and other safety violations that remain active in accordance with company policy.
Attendance Requirement
- With the new UKG attendance policy update, employees must have three (3) points or fewer and maintain three (3) points or fewer to remain in their position.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal. Must be able to read, write and interpret equipment, general safety procedures, to ensure the safety of our team members.
- Candidates must complete their 90-day probationary period to be eligible.
- Any suspension in the previous 12 months will not be considered.
