Our client is a global leader in caramel colors and specialty caramel ingredients, with more than 100 years of innovation serving the world's leading food and beverage brands! Their portfolio includes clean-label caramel colors, burnt sugars, syrups, and specialty ingredients found in countless products consumers enjoy every day!
We are looking for a Sales Account Manager to join their US team. This person will direct and manage commercial efforts for their assigned territory. This is a high-impact sales role focused on developing strategic customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and expanding sales and margins across a portfolio of specialty food ingredients.
This is a remote-based sales role, with 25-35% travel. Candidates may either reside in the Central US or Western US.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans for new and existing customers.
- Drive growth by identifying new customers, applications, volume opportunities, and margin expansion.
- Serve as a commercial leader for a key product portfolio, partnering with customers and internal teams to develop new opportunities and strengthen market positioning.
- Build relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders across customer organizations, including R&D, Quality, Purchasing, and other functions.
- Conduct customer presentations and communicate the value of a broad portfolio of food ingredients.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and emerging applications to identify opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with Marketing and cross-functional teams to develop sales tools, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
- Represent the organization at regional and national trade shows and industry events.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales experience within the food ingredients or specialty chemicals industry.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Proven track record of selling commercial ingredients.
- Strong business development, relationship-building, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Self-motivated, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience with Salesforce or another CRM is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 25–35%.
Base salary range: $135,000 - $145,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications, sales incentive bonus program, car allowance, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, 401(k), company paid life insurance, generous company holidays, PTO, and sick time. This compensation range reflects the company's expectations for this position at the time of posting. Actual pay will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, alignment with role responsibilities, education, demonstrated skills, and performance during the interview process.
