Description
Summary
Avanade is growing, and we seek motivated and engaged technology professionals to join our Managed Services team delivering continuous value to our client’s businesses.
We are seeking an Azure Support Engineer who can provide technical support across Microsoft Azure infrastructure, identity, networking, compute, storage, monitoring, backup, security, and governance services. You will work with business and technology stakeholders to resolve incidents, fulfil service requests, investigate platform issues, and deliver low-to-medium complexity configuration and operational improvements across active client environments.
You must be an Australian citizen to apply; security clearance is highly regarded.
Core to the Role
- Provide day-to-day Azure support across client environments, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage, Microsoft Entra ID, access controls, monitoring, backup, security, and platform reliability.
- Analyse client incidents and requests, then translate them into support actions, configuration changes, access updates, resource remediation, or technical resolution activities.
- Prepare and maintain technical design documentation, configuration guides, test scripts, support runbooks, service updates, and stakeholder engagement materials.
- Support Azure operational activities, environment readiness, resource provisioning, configuration changes, patching, backup and restore, maintenance planning, and platform testing.
- Develop and maintain low-to-medium complexity automation, scripts, Azure Resource Manager templates, Bicep modules, and operational improvements across supported Azure services.
- Build simple guides, support notes, test plans, service updates, and knowledge articles for clients, end users, and support teams.
- Support service governance adoption, including ticket prioritisation, SLA commitments, documentation standards, knowledge management, privileged access, change controls, and shared services processes.
- Use the Azure portal, Azure CLI, PowerShell, Bicep, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Network Watcher, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Azure Service Health where appropriate to support delivery and issue resolution.
- Track incidents, ticket trends, resource health, monitoring alerts, capacity concerns, platform outcomes, service outcomes, and client feedback, then recommend continuous improvements.

- Ability to investigate resource availability issues, identity and access problems, network connectivity faults, configuration errors, monitoring alerts, backup failures, performance concerns, and environment-related support issues.
- Ability to create technical specifications, configuration documentation, test scripts, support runbooks, technical notes, service updates, and support artefacts.
- Confident facilitator with experience running workshops, triage sessions, support status meetings, technical walkthroughs, and stakeholder briefings.
- Understanding of Azure support governance, service management, SLA commitments, ticket prioritisation, knowledge management, documentation standards, change control, security, and operational support basics.
