Description
Travel Medical Assistant
Bring preventive healthcare directly to patients where they live while working on a temporary, project-based assignment that keeps you moving. In this W-2 Temporary/Seasonal Travel Medical Assistant role, you’ll complete scheduled in-home visits across the United States, supporting preventive care, health assessments, care-gap initiatives, and accurate visit documentation.
This assignment is expected to continue through January 2027. Employment beyond the project period is not guaranteed, but the assignment may be extended or renewed by mutual agreement based on business needs, performance, and availability.

What You’ll Do
- Travel nationwide to complete scheduled in-home patient visits.
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs, health screenings, and required patient information.
- Support health assessments, care-gap activities, and assigned clinical programs.
- Perform standard Medical Assistant responsibilities within your authorized scope.
- Support approved point-of-care testing and specimen collection, as applicable.
- Follow established infection-control, safety, HIPAA/privacy, and escalation procedures.
- Document visit activities accurately and promptly in designated systems and applications.
- Stay organized across changing routes, patient schedules, markets, and coverage needs.
- Maintain assigned equipment and supplies, and safeguard company property and patient information.
- Meet applicable scheduling, attendance, travel, productivity, quality, and documentation expectations.
What You’ll Bring
- Medical Assistant training, certification, diploma, or equivalent qualification.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability and willingness to travel nationwide, including assignments outside your home state.
- Comfort working independently in patients’ homes.
- Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and patient-service skills.
- Ability to follow established clinical and operational protocols.
Nice-to-Haves
- Hands-on Medical Assistant experience.
- Experience with Annual Wellness Visits or preventive health assessments.
- Home visit, mobile care, field-based care, or community health experience.
- Experience with point-of-care testing or specimen collection.
- Experience documenting patient visits in an EMR/EHR system.
Travel, Schedule, and Assignment Details
This is a nationwide travel position. You must be comfortable traveling to assigned markets anywhere within the United States based on project volume, patient availability, geographic coverage needs, and other business requirements.
Travel locations, frequency, and duration may change throughout the project. Weekly schedules and hours are determined by available work, patient volume, and operational needs. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours per week, and weekly hours may increase or decrease throughout the assignment.
Employees are paid for all compensable hours worked in accordance with applicable wage-and-hour requirements.
