Overview of the role:
As a Solution Architect, you will act as the technical bridge between clients, Sales, and delivery - while sitting primarily within Professional Services. The core purpose of the role is to reduce delivery risk by owning solution design and architecture from discovery through implementation, ensuring robust, scalable, secure, and supportable outcomes. You will partner closely with Sales to validate feasibility, de-risk deals, and shape realistic commitments, then remain accountable for architectural integrity once the deal is signed. This is a hands-on, client-facing, revenue-generating role requiring both technical depth and commercial pragmatism.

Your day to day: Solution Architect
Client Solutioning:
- Rapidly understand client environments, data flows, and business needs. Tailor solution designs and communications to diverse technical and business audiences.
Integration Leadership:
- Architect and document end-to-end solutions, focusing on data integration, transformation, and orchestration using modern tools (e.g., NiFi, API gateways, Kafka, Kubernetes), integration patterns for asynchronous, event driven systems.
Technical Pre-sales (Discovery & De-risking):
- Partner with Sales during technical discovery to validate feasibility, surface constraints and dependencies, and shape pragmatic solution approaches. Support sales cycles with solution recommendations, responses to technical queries, and contributions to RFPs/RFIs. Lead targeted proof of concepts where needed to validate assumptions and de-risk integrations.
Deliery Architecture Ownership:
- Own the end-to-end solution design and architecture through implementation once a deal is signed. Provide architectural governance across build, configuration, integration, and deployment; review designs and changes; and ensure delivery teams have clear blueprints, standards, and decision logs to reduce complexity, timelines, and risk.
Standardisation & Reuse:
- Drive standard patterns, reference architectures, and repeatable integration approaches to reduce bespoke delivery over time. Identify opportunities to simplify implementations, improve margins, and feed recurring delivery learnings into pre-sales discovery and product/service improvements.
Data & Architecture:
- Specify and map data flows, formats (JSON, XML, CSV, graph), and transports (HTTP, S/FTP, Kafka, MQ). Address challenges of async/sync and streaming communications, including idempotency, retries, rate limiting, error handling, and timeouts
Security & Compliance:
- Confidently explain the platform’s information security controls and data protection measures to clients, translating concepts such as encryption, access control, and regulatory compliance into clear, business‑friendly language. Apply information security principles (confidentiality, integrity, availability) and ensure solutions meet regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR).
Documentation & Enablement:
- Produce clear technical documentation and mentor internal teams.
Do you have what it takes?
Essential:
- Experience in financial crime, compliance, or AML domains.
- Strong background in enterprise software, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), and secure deployment.
- Broad experience of business, data, software and technology architecture and the inter-relationships.
- Expertise in API-based integration, ETL, data transformation, and orchestration technologies (NiFi, Kafka, API gateways, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of data representation formats and transport protocols.
- Familiarity with information security best practices and secure data transfer (encryption, key management).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to establish credibility with client architecture teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform under pressure.
Desirable:
- Experience with large data sets, distributed systems, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SSO/OIDC/SAML/SCIM and identity providers.
- Hands-on with Elasticsearch, TimeSeries DB, or similar.
- Experience with SaaS platforms in regulated industries.
