The Opportunity
The COPA Acute Care Pediatrician is a clinical leader within the Patient-Centered Medical Home, partnering with children, families, and an interdisciplinary care team to provide exceptional right-fit care for kids at every milestone through relationship-centered, evidence-based pediatric care. Guided by the principles and best practices of the American Academy of Pediatrics and aligned with COPA’s mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, the Acute Care Pediatrician focuses on the timely evaluation and management of acute illness and injury in the primary care setting, bringing and maintaining pediatric acute care skill sets within COPA while supporting each child’s relationship with their medical home.
Beyond caring for individual patients, the Acute Care Pediatrician plays an integral role in improving the health of children throughout our community. By expanding timely access to acute care and helping families receive the right care in the right setting, and through collaboration, quality improvement, population health initiatives, advocacy, and leadership, the Acute Care Pediatrician helps ensure that every child has the opportunity to achieve their healthiest potential.
The COPA Acute Care Pediatrician exemplifies professionalism, teamwork, lifelong learning, and clinical excellence while fostering trusted, long-term relationships that strengthen children, families, and the health of our community.
