Requirements

The Warehouse & Logistics Manager, will be responsible for all inbound & outbound logistics functions for the company, including receiving, warehousing, order entry, trucking & shipping.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Receiving

• Oversees receiving of all incoming goods and equipment, making sure deliveries are accurate, on time, in good condition, and meet company quality standards.
• Makes sure delivery paperwork is verified, signed, and filed, and that receipts are entered in the system. Sends matched documents to Accounts Payable on time.
• Works with Procurement and QA to resolve delivery problems and lets the right people know quickly when urgent items arrive.

Inventory Control

• Maintains accurate inventory records for the Block Cheese and Finished Goods warehouses, including all product movement in and out.
• Enforces FIFO rotation, clear lot number labeling on every pallet, and separate, clearly marked storage for product on hold.
• Leads regular cycle counts and physical inventories and investigates and corrects any differences.
• Makes sure off-site storage locations meet company QA and warehousing standards, and that their inventory matches internal records.
• Handles damaged, expired, or unusable inventory according to company procedures.

Order Management 

• Coordinates customer pick-ups and pick schedules with warehouse staff and sends orders on hold to the right department for resolution.
• Makes sure customers are served promptly and professionally.

Transportation, Shipping, and Export

• Oversees scheduling of domestic and export freight with reliable carriers and freight forwarders. Shipments go to customers or their distribution centers.
• Makes sure all export and shipping paperwork, including USDA certificates and customs documents, is complete and accurate. A second person reviews it before it ships.

Team Leadership

• Leads, develops, and holds the Warehouse team accountable. 
• Handles hiring, training, scheduling, and performance reviews.
• Builds a strong safety culture, including forklift safety and OSHA compliance.

Performance and Continuous Improvement

• Monitor & report logistics KPIs, such as inventory accuracy, on-time shipments, labor and freight cost. Uses the results to measure department performance and find ways to improve.
• Reviews and improves warehouse and logistics procedures to raise accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:

• Participate in the annual Management review of the Food Safety and quality system.
• Participate in the Business Continuity Plan and Recall/Withdraw team.
• Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
• Comply with GMP’s in the plant.
• Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system.

Qualifications:

• Highly effective communicator (preferably bi-lingual in English & Spanish), both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas and concepts
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships at all levels, with the confidence to be engaging with all employees
• Experience in the agricultural and/or consumer products manufacturing (especially Food/Beverage) industries
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 7 years related experience in progressively responsible Logistics roles, with a minimum of 3+ years proven success leading and developing a Logistics department
• High energy individual who possesses a can-do attitude, where success is measured by getting the job done on-time, accurately & efficiently
• Experience in tactical planning and execution, including analyzing and improving existing operations and procedures, formulating policies, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
• Creative, abstract thinker/problem solver
