Operations Director
We’re looking for an OPERATIONS DIRECTOR at the intersection of client engagement, market insight, and solution delivery, to run a new Reinsurance Broker division in London with a small team of around 5-10 people.
What You’ll Do
Internal Systems and Processes
Leading the onboarding of reinsurance arrangements into appropriate business processes. ( New Risks and Renewals), familiarity with the exchanging processing system, Reinsurance processing Software, FCA requirements (working in tandem with the accountant) ,Terms of Business Agreements with Underwriters and awareness of market trends and regulations; familiarity with reinsurance structures is a plus. The OP may also be required to meet with the underwriters in the box where slips/Documents need to be signed off by Underwriters.
Strategic Partnership:
Understand client goals and market trends to develop and execute initiatives that support growth and differentiation. Knowledge of Reinsurance is at the core of this opportunity. Relationship Management: Through proactive outreach, be the trusted point of contact for clients and intermediaries, fostering engagement, trust and resolving issues.
Sales Growth & Retention:
Identify cross-sell opportunities to expand partnerships, lead renewal delivery and negotiations, and implement strategies that ensure long-term client loyalty.
Performance Management:
Monitor client portfolios, lead quarterly reviews, and create action plans to improve results.
Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams of to align client strategies with business objectives. Maintain healthy relationship with London and International Underwriters.
Education & Experience:
Desirable - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) or ACII; 15 years in underwriting, actuarial, finance, or relationship management roles in the Re/Insurance industry. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the London Market and International Reinsurance Market. Plan, recommend and attend business conference.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present solutions clearly to senior leaders and negotiate win-win solutions.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel for document creation, market-ready presentation development, and data analysis & reporting.
