Work Location

• All positions are considered on-site roles.
• After six months of employment, some positions may be eligible to apply for a hybrid work arrangement based on job responsibilities, operational needs, supervisor approval, and Dallas College policy.
• Academic (Faculty) positions require an on-campus presence, even when teaching online courses, in accordance with state law.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with program planning, coordination, and implementation for community outreach events or services.
• Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, scheduling, and preparing correspondence.
• Support client services, which may include answering phones, directing inquiries, or assisting with intake processes.
• Help with volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination.
• Conduct research or gather information pertinent to the organization's mission.
• Assist with marketing and communication efforts, including social media updates or newsletter creation.
• Participate in community events, workshops, or service projects as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to organizational policies.
• Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be an undergraduate student awarded Federal Work-Study funds through FAFSA.
• Must meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress standards set by Dallas College. 
• Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours (half-time) during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen..
• No outstanding institutional balances or registration blocks.
• Must have reliable transportation to off-campus worksites (if applicable).
• Completion of required Dallas College professional development training.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Must be an enrolled student eligible for Federal Work-Study funding.
• Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Demonstrated interest in community service and the mission of the host organization.
• Ability to adapt to various tasks and learn new skills quickly.

Learning Outcomes/Benefits to Students:

• Students will develop practical skills in non-profit management, community engagement, and public service. They will gain exposure to diverse populations and social issues, enhancing their civic responsibility and professional networking.

Work Schedule:

• Part-time, flexible hours (typically up to 19.5 hours per week), determined in coordination with the site supervisor and student's academic schedule.
