Description
About the role
Payments sit at the heart of every customer experience, and this is a rare opportunity to shape how millions of everyday banking interactions are delivered across BOQ Group.
As Head of Payments Product and Third Party Management, you'll lead the strategy, performance and evolution of our payments ecosystem across all brands, products and channels. You'll have end-to-end accountability for payments capabilities, product management, operational resilience and critical third-party partnerships, ensuring our customers and bankers experience payments that are simple, reliable, secure and fit for the future.
From cards, BPAY and NPP through to emerging payment capabilities, you'll work across Product, Technology, Digital, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Customer teams to drive meaningful outcomes that balance customer experience, commercial performance and regulatory obligations. You'll oversee strategic partnerships with some of Australia's most important payments providers and schemes while leading initiatives that strengthen resilience, simplify processes and create better experiences for customers and frontline teams alike.
This is a highly visible enterprise leadership role where you'll influence senior stakeholders, shape investment priorities and help determine the future direction of payments at BOQ Group. You'll be empowered to think strategically while remaining connected to execution, ensuring great ideas translate into tangible outcomes for customers, colleagues and the broader business.
What makes this opportunity particularly exciting is the unique environment BOQ Group offers. We're large enough to offer the complexity, challenge and impact of a major financial institution, yet small enough that your ideas can genuinely influence the future of the organisation. You'll have direct access to decision-makers, the ability to shape strategy and the opportunity to see the outcomes of your work come to life.
We're building a bank that's customer-focused, purpose-led and ambitious about the future. Our people are encouraged to be curious, challenge conventional thinking and collaborate across boundaries to solve meaningful problems. If you're looking for a role where you can leave a lasting legacy while helping shape one of banking's most critical domains, you'll find that opportunity here.
About you
You're a strategic and commercially minded leader who understands that great payments experiences require strong partnerships, resilient operations and a relentless focus on customers.
You'll bring significant experience in payments, product leadership or financial services, along with a deep understanding of the payments landscape and the operational, regulatory and commercial considerations that underpin it. You're comfortable navigating complexity and have a track record of balancing customer outcomes, risk management, technology delivery and business performance.
You excel at bringing people together around a common goal. Whether you're partnering with technology teams to deliver new capabilities, working with external providers to optimise services or influencing executives on strategic priorities, you're able to build trusted relationships and drive outcomes through collaboration and influence.
You'll likely have experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives, managing critical supplier relationships and building high-performing teams that take ownership and deliver results. You're energised by solving complex challenges and constantly looking for opportunities to improve customer experiences, simplify processes and strengthen organisational capability.
Most importantly, you're someone who wants to make a difference. You'll thrive in an environment where curiosity is valued, diverse perspectives are welcomed and success is achieved together. You'll see possibilities where others see obstacles and be excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of payments at an organisation where your contribution is visible, valued and impactful.
