We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator / Assistant Project Manager to join a well-established electrical contractor in the Enfield, CT area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical background in commercial electrical construction who enjoys estimating but also wants exposure to project management.

The position will be approximately 70% Estimating and 30% Project Management, supporting commercial electrical projects throughout Connecticut.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating –

• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform detailed takeoffs and prepare accurate labor and material estimates
• Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Prepare competitive bids and proposals for commercial electrical projects
• Identify project scope, exclusions, potential risks, and value-engineering opportunities
• Assist with bid follow-up and project turnover after award
• Maintain organized estimating documentation and historical pricing information

Project Management –

• Assist with managing smaller commercial electrical projects from award through completion
• Coordinate with field personnel, general contractors, vendors, and customers
• Assist with material procurement, scheduling, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Track project costs, progress, and documentation
• Help ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
• Support project closeout and customer communication

Qualifications

• Technical background in the electrical construction industry
• Experience with commercial electrical estimating strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
• Understanding of electrical materials, labor requirements, and construction methods
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently in a smaller contractor environment and handling multiple projects
• Proficiency with estimating and standard office software
• Connecticut electrical license is preferred but not required
• Previous project management or Assistant PM experience is a plus

Compensation

$45–$48 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
