Job Summary:**

ALS Chemex South Africa (Proprietary) Ltd is seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our market presence. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and securing lucrative contracts through expert negotiation and proposal development.

Job Responsibilities:**

* Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the relevant market sectors.
* Conduct business consultations with potential and existing clients to understand their needs and present tailored solutions.
* Manage all aspects of client-facing interactions, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
* Develop and maintain robust client relations, fostering long-term partnerships.
* Prepare, review, and negotiate contract agreements, ensuring favorable terms for ALS Chemex.
* Lead complex contract negotiations with clients, securing new business and renewals.
* Develop compelling and technically accurate proposals that clearly articulate value propositions.
* Gather and analyze market intelligence to identify trends, competitive landscape, and new opportunities.
* Prepare and submit comprehensive technical proposals to potential clients.
* Manage the end-to-end process of tender submissions, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.

Job Qualifications:**

* Proven experience in a Business Development Manager role, preferably within the analytical chemistry or related industry.
* Demonstrated expertise in business consultations and client-facing interactions.
* Strong track record of success in building and maintaining excellent client relations.
* Extensive experience with contract agreements and successful contract negotiations.
* Proficiency in developing persuasive and effective proposals, including technical proposals.
* Ability to conduct thorough market intelligence gathering and analysis.
* Experience with tender submissions and a strong understanding of the tendering process.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Results-oriented with a strong drive to achieve and exceed sales targets.
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, or a related technical field is preferred.
