Our client is seeking an inspiring and strategically minded General Manager to serve as the primary business leader of their new luxury resort. You will drive all operational and commercial activities to ensure exceptional service delivery, strong financial performance, and a guest experience that elevates the resort’s brand presence in the market.
The ideal candidate is a visionary hospitality leader who can design and implement high‑impact programs that strengthen operational excellence, maximise profitability, enhance guest satisfaction, and foster an engaged, high‑performing team culture.
While maintaining a strategic, long‑range view of the business, the General Manager must also demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and exemplary work ethic—setting the standard for the entire team. You will champion a service culture rooted in excellence, integrity, and the resort’s core values, ensuring every touchpoint reflects the brand’s commitment to world‑class hospitality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership & Business Ownership
- Act as the primary strategic business leader of the resort, driving all resort activities
- Take ownership of pre-opening and post-opening phases of the hotel
- Take a strategic overview while planning ahead to maximise profits
- Drive commercial strategy to exceed business goals
- Build and execute successful programs to meet operational, financial, guest satisfaction, and team engagement objectives
Financial & Commercial Management
- Manage budgets, revenue proposals, and forecasting
- Drive profitability through strong commercial acumen
- Ensure financial objectives are consistently achieved
Service & Brand Standards
- Ensure high service delivery that builds brand recognition
- Set the example for team members by demonstrating exceptional work ethics
- Uphold full commitment to the brand's Vision, Purpose, and Values
People & Culture
- Provide thoughtful leadership to build a strong service culture
- Create a positive work environment where team members can thrive
- Act as a highly interactive, collaborative team player
Stakeholder & Market Relations
- Build and grow relationships with stakeholders
- Apply extensive knowledge of the local market and domestic tourism in Phu Quoc and the surrounding region
- Maintain robust knowledge of local hotel laws, rules, and regulations
Operational Oversight
- Apply excellent knowledge of hotel operations, ideally including Food & Beverage service management
- Bring high-level corporate knowledge in line with company goals
- Apply strong project management and organisational skills to day-to-day operations
- Solve problems efficiently while maintaining a keen eye for detail
REQUIREMENTS:
Academic Qualifications
- Tertiary education at Degree level from a recognised institution majoring in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management or Tourism
- Management or Business Administration or equivalent qualifications.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Management or related fields would be a definite advantage.
Previous Performance
- A minimum of 15 years of working experience at managerial level with luxury international hospitality brands.
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience as General Manager in a luxury branded resort.
- Excellent command of Hospitality and, preferably in Food & Beverage service management.
- Excelling in driving and taking ownership of all aspects, including pre-opening and post-opening of hotels.
- Extensive knowledge of the local market and domestic tourism in Vietnam.
- Maldives experience would be preferred too.
- Proven success in driving commercial strategy to exceed business goals.
- Thoughtful leadership with ability to build strong service culture and positive work environment for Team Members to thrive.
- Possess strong commercial acumen, with experience in increasing profitability.
- Experience in managing budgets, revenue proposals, and forecasting results.
- Exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to build and grow connections with stakeholders.
- Excellent knowledge of hotel operations as well as high level of corporate knowledge with regards to company goals is a definite asset.
- Must possess robust knowledge of local hotel laws, rules and regulations.
- Extremely creative and innovative.
- Strong managerial and administrative abilities; a task master with excellent organisational, technical, analytical and negotiation skills.
