As an office-based intern, you’ll work alongside experienced construction professionals, gain exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities of project management, and contribute to projects throughout Northeast Florida. Position Description
- Assist the Project Manager or Manager-in-Training with project startup activities, including updating master schedules, purchase control logs, tracking long-lead materials and equipment, and coordinating pre-bid inquiries
- Assist with the review of project submittals, shop drawings, and product data as directed by the Project Manager
- Assist with preparing and distributing Requests for Information (RFIs), clearly identifying and documenting project issues
- Maintain and update the Project Control Log
- Assist with preparing Change Order Proposals for project scope changes
- Help provide field personnel with the information and documentation needed to support project activities
- Assist with responding to requests and instructions from architects, engineers, and owners related to quality control and correction of deficiencies
- Support project closeout activities, including punch list inspections, closeout documentation, and warranty follow-up
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Building Construction Management or a related field
- Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in commercial construction
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and contribute as part of a team
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
