Marketing Professional Lead - Art Direction

Job Description

Bring a Brand to Life to Improve Lives.

Jefferson Health Plans is looking for an experienced, concept-driven Art Director to help shape and grow one of the region's most recognized health insurance brands.

As part of the Jefferson Enterprise Marketing & Communications Creative team, you'll play a central role in bringing the Jefferson Health Plans brand to life across every channel and audience touchpoint. From Medicare and Medicaid campaigns to ACA and CHIP member communications, you'll translate complex information into compelling, accessible creative experiences that engage, inform, and inspire.

This role is ideal for a creative leader who is equally comfortable developing big ideas, crafting thoughtful design systems, and navigating the highly regulated world of health insurance marketing. You'll work alongside strategists, account managers, writers, digital marketers, social media specialists, paid media teams, public relations professionals, and communications leaders to create integrated campaigns that drive measurable business outcomes.

Most importantly, you'll be joining an organization that believes great creative work can improve lives.

What You'll Do

Lead Creative Development Across Channels

  • Concept and design integrated marketing campaigns that span broadcast, video, social media, digital advertising, CRM, web, print, direct mail, events, and environmental experiences.
  • Transform strategic briefs into compelling creative concepts that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Develop visual storytelling approaches that strengthen Jefferson Health Plans' brand position and support business growth.
  • Create and oversee production-ready creative assets that meet the highest standards for quality, accessibility, and brand consistency.
  • Help evolve and expand the Jefferson Health Plans visual identity while maintaining alignment with Jefferson's broader enterprise brand architecture.

Be a Steward of the Brand

  • Serve as a champion for brand standards, ensuring consistency across all member, provider, broker, employer, agency and community-facing communications.
  • Partner closely with writers and strategists to ensure visual and verbal storytelling work together seamlessly.
  • Help educate stakeholders and teammates on brand principles, creative best practices, and design standards.
  • Balance enterprise alignment with the unique voice, personality, and market position of Jefferson Health Plans.

Navigate a Complex and Highly Regulated Environment

  • Design creative solutions that meet regulatory requirements across Medicare, Medicaid, ACA Marketplace, and CHIP products.
  • Collaborate with compliance, legal, and business stakeholders to ensure materials meet industry and governmental standards.
  • Develop creative approaches that maintain engagement and clarity while working within required regulatory language and approval processes.
  • Anticipate compliance and reputational risk while protecting brand integrity.

Drive Integrated Marketing Performance

  • Apply a strong understanding of customer journeys and funnel marketing to create campaigns that drive awareness, consideration, acquisition, retention, and engagement.
  • Partner with media, CRM, digital, and analytics teams to optimize creative performance across channels.
  • Use data, testing, audience insights, and campaign results to inform design decisions and continuously improve outcomes.
  • Contribute to creative innovation and help identify emerging trends, tools, and technologies that enhance performance.

Mentor and Elevate Creative Excellence

  • Act as a senior creative resource and subject matter expert for design and visual storytelling.
  • Provide thoughtful feedback to designers, writers, vendors, freelancers, and agency partners.
  • Help strengthen creative processes, workflows, templates, and review standards across the team.
  • Introduce new ideas, technologies, and ways of working that improve quality, efficiency, and collaboration.

What Success Looks Like

The ideal candidate is someone who can move comfortably between strategy and execution. You understand that great creative isn't just beautiful. It solves problems, drives business outcomes, and creates meaningful experiences for audiences.

You thrive in collaborative environments, navigate ambiguity with confidence, and can manage multiple stakeholders and priorities without losing sight of the creative vision.

You are equally energized by a broadcast campaign launch, a Medicare enrollment direct mail package, a social media concept, or a CRM nurture journey because you understand how every touchpoint contributes to a broader brand story.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in a marketing department, in-house creative team, agency, or related environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including:
    • Photoshop
    • Illustrator
    • InDesign
    • After Effects
    • Premiere Pro
    • Acrobat
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, campaign thinking, visual storytelling, and multi-channel execution.
  • Experience developing creative across digital, social, print, video, CRM, and advertising channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience balancing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare, health insurance, managed care, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, ACA Marketplace, CHIP, or other regulated industries.
  • Understanding of health plan marketing regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working within a branded-house or multi-brand enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with customer journey mapping, audience segmentation, and funnel-based marketing.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools responsibly within creative and marketing workflows.
  • Understanding of web accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

You'll join a collaborative in-house team of designers, writers, strategists, account managers, digital marketers, social media specialists, media professionals, communications experts, and public relations leaders who are passionate about creating meaningful work.

If you're an Art Director who wants to build a brand, influence strategy, tackle complex challenges, and create marketing that genuinely improves lives, we'd love to hear from you.
