Job Description:
This job is responsible for executing control testing of internal investigation cases of employee fraud and misconduct. Key responsibilities include analyzing cases and documentation for adherence to standards, guidelines and regulatory compliance, coaching managers/investigators on remediation, and escalating and reporting risks identified through case reviews. Job expectations include having proficient knowledge of the regulatory, reputational, operational, and legal risks encountered in the course of investigations while demonstrating judgement, discretion and independent decision making.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews and analyzes investigative case notes, documentation, and processes to ensure adherence to internal standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- Identifies and provides feedback and recommendations to investigators on cases requiring remediation or additional investigation
- Coaches investigators to drive improved quality, accuracy, thoroughness, and compliance with respect to investigative processes, notes, and documentation
- Prepares control assessment reports and presents findings to management, relevant stakeholders, and control partners on investigative case control assessments
- Establishes strong working relationships with investigators, managers, and control function partners
- Drives the training and adoption of investigative standards and guidelines
Required Qualifications:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound time management, maintain attention to detail, and take initiative.
- Strong knowledge of risk management practices, including experience identifying, escalating, and effectively challenging risk when appropriate.
- Proven ability to build partnerships across the organization, developing an understanding of end-to-end processes and their interdependencies to drive holistic solutions.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback, coaching, and guidance in a positive and professional manner, fostering confidence, collaboration, and alignment toward shared goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other business-related software, with the ability to quickly learn and leverage new tools and technologies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Investigation experience, preferably internal.
- Experience conducting case reviews and quality assurance activities, with a background in quality control, compliance, audit, or related risk management functions.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory, reputational, operational, and legal risks that may arise during investigations, with the ability to identify, assess, and appropriately escalate concerns.
- Comprehensive understanding of bank systems, applications, and investigative technologies, as well as the enterprise's businesses, products, core corporate functions, and internal policies that support effective investigations and risk-based decision-making.
