NETC Fleet Services is growing our Chicopee team, and we’re looking for an Assistant Fleet Mechanic who’s mechanically sharp, dependable, and ready to learn.

You’ll start by mastering the fundamentals — preventive maintenance, brake work, inspections, and core repairs — while working directly alongside experienced technicians.

As your skills grow, so will the work you’re trusted to handle.

We’ll invest real training time into helping you develop the diagnostic skills, repair knowledge, and hands-on judgment needed to become a skilled diesel technician.

🔩 WHAT YOU’LL DO FROM DAY ONE

Get your hands dirty. Learn the fleet. Build your skills.
🔹 Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) across our light-, medium-, and heavy-duty fleet

🔹 Diagnose and replace brake components from start to finish

🔹 Handle core repairs and maintenance, including fluids, filters, belts, hoses, tires, and general upkeep

🔹 Work side-by-side with senior technicians on more advanced repairs

🔹 Maintain accurate service and inspection records

🔹 Follow DOT compliance requirements and shop safety procedures

🔹 Keep your tools and workspace clean, organized, and ready to work

📈 WHAT WE’LL TEACH YOU

You’re not expected to walk in knowing everything.

As you develop, we’ll help train you in:

⚙️ Diesel engine diagnostics

🔍 Complex fleet-system troubleshooting

🛠️ Heavy maintenance and major repairs

🧠 Real-world diagnostic judgment and problem-solving

You’ll work directly with experienced technicians who know this fleet inside and out — and who are invested in helping you get better.

🎯 WHAT YOU BRING

We can teach advanced skills. We’re looking for someone who brings the right foundation and attitude.

✓ Basic mechanical experience — diesel, automotive, or a related trade

✓ A genuine willingness to learn, listen, and take direction

✓ Valid driver’s license — CDL is a plus, but not required

✓ Physical readiness for hands-on shop work, including lifting and extended periods of standing

✓ Strong attention to safety and doing the job correctly

✓ Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
