We are working with an established and rapidly growing financial services business operating within the UK property and mortgage lending sector.

The business uses technology, data and automation to simplify and improve the way property finance is delivered, combining financial expertise with modern technology to create a more efficient customer and lending experience.

As the organisation continues to invest heavily in its technology and data capabilities, they are looking for a Product Owner to help shape and deliver the next generation of data-driven products and platforms.

About the role

As a Product Owner, you will work closely with the Data Engineering team, technology stakeholders and wider business to define, prioritise and deliver data and AI-focused products.

You will sit at the intersection of product, data and technology, translating business requirements into clear technical outcomes and helping the engineering team deliver solutions that have a measurable impact.

This is a hands-on product role for someone who understands data and modern technology and is comfortable working closely with engineers, data professionals and senior stakeholders.

You will play an important role in developing the company's use of data, automation and AI, helping identify opportunities where technology can improve decision-making, operational efficiency and customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the product roadmap across data and AI initiatives
• Work closely with Data Engineers to define requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
• Translate business requirements into clear technical and product specifications
• Prioritise the product backlog based on business value and technical considerations
• Work with engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle
• Identify opportunities to use AI, automation and data to improve products and processes
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Technology, Data, Product and the wider business
• Help define and measure product success through relevant KPIs and outcomes
• Support the development of scalable data products and platforms
• Communicate product priorities, progress and challenges clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar role within a technology or data-focused environment
• Strong understanding of data engineering and modern data platforms
• Experience working closely with Data Engineers or software engineering teams
• Good understanding of Python and its application within data, automation or AI environments
• Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms
• Strong understanding of AI and how it can be applied to real-world products and business problems
• Experience writing user stories, defining requirements and managing product backlogs
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into clear business outcomes

Desirable experience

• Experience working within financial services, fintech, banking, lending or property technology
• Experience delivering AI or machine learning products
• Knowledge of modern data architecture and cloud-based data platforms
• Experience working with APIs, data pipelines or data products
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
