Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering engineering design solutions, including 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation, to meet customer and business requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers throughout the project lifecycle, supporting design reviews, project execution, installation, and troubleshooting activities while driving design standardization, quality, and continuous improvement.

This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation in Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable for

 

• Create and develop detailed engineering designs, 3D models, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using CAD/CATIA and other 3D design tools.
• Design and optimize engineering solutions based on customer and business requirements, performing design analysis, simulations, and validation to ensure product performance and compliance.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including procurement, operations, project management, and customers to ensure successful project execution and timely delivery of milestones.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs, technical reports, presentations, design standards, and other project documentation while driving design standardization and continuous improvement.
• Provide engineering support during customer reviews, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and site execution activities to ensure technical excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Participate in site meetings, design reviews, and stakeholder discussions to align technical requirements, resolve issues, and support overall project objectives.

 

Qualifications for the role: -

 

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in engineering design, product development, and automotive paint shop projects, with hands-on experience in ABB paint robots and robot commissioning.
• Strong proficiency in CAD and 3D design tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or Siemens NX, with a solid understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and design standards.
• Experience in product testing, validation, technical documentation, and providing engineering support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
• Working knowledge of controls and PLC systems, along with proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional and customer-facing environments.
