POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Lead will assist the Production Manager in scheduling and producing wood related products to meet customer requirements in a highly custom store fixture environment. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review production order specifications and help plan production process, including how to produce, the correct tools and materials for the job and the sequence of steps to follow in production of the product
• Problem-solve and make decisions on ways to decrease cycle times and improve efficiency of setups
• Oversee production processes and check the accuracy of the finished piece against drawings using calibrated measuring tools
• Participate in production meetings to ensure schedule due dates are met
• Work as a team with production planning, inspection
• Safely operate machinery and assist in maintenance and repair as needed
• Generate CNC programs as needed
• Inspect for quality in all aspects of different jobs
• Assure work areas are kept clean and orderly utilizing 6S methods
• Help associates with problem solving, adjustments, and machine setups
• Coordinate production jobs for efficiency
• Coordinate inventory requirements with production control and planning
• Enforce safety, quality, and all other company policies
• Inspect Bill of Material and Job Orders for completeness
• Excellent leadership skills, able to motivate team and set good example
• Provide training, direction, and daily feedback to team
• Responsible for record-keeping
• Other tasks and responsibilities as necessary

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has direct reports.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Effective communication with all levels of employees within organization to ensure goals are understood and met by team
• Ability to make independent and relevant decisions and to take appropriate actions
• Excellent Excel and analytical skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum requirements: 2 years of supervisory experience in Manufacturing/Wood Industry

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• This position must be able to travel regionally up to 25% of the time or as required
• Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled facility in both hot and cold climates
• Varying work schedules based on business need are sometimes required
• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to carry and lift materials up to 50 lbs.
