Elevate Your Dietetics Career with DaVita Kidney Care
Are you looking for a fulfilling clinical role where you can build enduring relationships with patients and practice specialized medical nutrition therapy? DaVita Kidney Care is seeking passionate Registered Dietitians (RD/RDN) to join our interdisciplinary care teams across the Southern Stars Division.
As a Renal Dietitian at DaVita, you serve as a vital clinical leader. In close partnership with Nephrologists, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, and Patient Care Technicians, you will empower dialysis patients through customized Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) that enhances treatment outcomes, improves laboratory measures, and elevates quality of life.
Whether you bring years of specialized renal experience or are a new graduate looking for a supportive environment with comprehensive mentorship to launch your nephrology career, the DaVita Village provides the tools, training, and community you need to thrive.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will deliver comprehensive nutritional care and guidance across our outpatient dialysis facilities and home modality programs:
- Conduct comprehensive initial nutrition assessments and ongoing reassessments following clinical guidelines and CMS regulations.
- Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and patients to create, monitor, and adjust individualized Plans of Care (POC).
- Evaluate and track monthly lab results (including albumin, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, Kt/V, fluid status, and bone metabolism) to tailor Medical Nutrition Therapy interventions.
- Manage Mineral and Bone Disorder (MBD) protocols and assist patients in understanding their lab trends and medication regimens.
- Apply Motivational Interviewing techniques to support patients in setting achievable lifestyle and dietary goals.
- Provide patient and family counseling that respects diverse cultural backgrounds, food traditions, and socioeconomic factors.
- Present annual nutrition-focused in-service education for clinical teammates.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary care conferences, Facility Health Meetings, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) programs.
