Beloit Health System is looking to add EVS Specialists to our Team!
- Shift: Various Shifts Available
- Schedule:
1st – 7a-3:30p
2nd – 2:30 p-11p
3rd - 11p - 7:30a
- Hours per week: Varied – Per Diem
- Benefits Status: Not Eligible
- Department: Environmental Services
The EVS Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital. This role is primarily responsible for the care, cleaning, and maintenance of hard and soft flooring, walls, windows, ceilings, and specialized equipment. The technician also supports waste transport, textile handling, and event set-ups.
- Perform routine and restorative floor care on a variety of surfaces, including vinyl, tile, carpet, and other flooring materials.
- Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, carpet extractors, and wet/dry vacuums.
- Strip, scrub, seal, wax, and polish floors according to established procedures.
- Shampoo, extract, spot clean, and maintain carpets throughout the facility.
- Clean and maintain entryways, stairwells, hallways, elevators, and public areas.
- Respond promptly to spills, safety hazards, and emergency cleaning requests.
- Ensure proper use, storage, and handling of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA standards.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on floor care equipment and report repair needs.
- Assist with training team members on floor care procedures and equipment operation as needed.
- Performs room set-ups and tear downs as requested
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in floor care or healthcare housekeeping preferred
- Ability to safely operate and maintain powered cleaning equipment
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks and manage time
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal communication
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and hospital policies/procedures.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- May work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
