JOB PURPOSE

Primary responsibility is running the desk's proprietary FX, rates, derivatives and cross markets trading portfolio to increase Treasury’s profitability. Desk mandate includes the trading of FX Option for hedging, arbitrage and risk taking.

Secondary responsibility is the management FX Metro book to quote competitive pricing to internal and external customers.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. To run proprietary FX, FX Options, rates, derivatives and cross markets trading to generate profits. To trade in FX Swaps, foreign bonds and ACU arbitrage activities in major and emerging currencies.

2. To manage FX Metro book to quote competitive pricing to internal and external customers. To monitor and manage Banks’s FX exposure and ensure sufficient funding for non-swap currencies to avoid overdrawn accounts.

3. To assist Sales Team in marketing and market -making to improve market liquidity and maintain good rapport with clients. To assist Sales Team in building and retaining relationship with customers by providing competitive pricing and market commentaries.

4. To provide competitive pricing and hedges to Division and other Strategic Business Units.

5. Ensure internal and external customers are served professionally and quoted competitive pricing at all time.

6. To maintain good rapport with agent banks and other strategic partners to ensure limits and tenor are sufficient as well as to support funding requirements.

7. Keep abreast of market development and update line manager(s) on key issues which may affect Treasury business areas.

8. To assist the Head of Division, Head of Department preparing the financial budget and action planning. To ensure other duties/responsibilities assigned by the Head of Division/Head of Department are completed on time.

9. Ensure compliance to BNM, Bank’s policies and Dealers Code of Ethics in carrying out the daily operations.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS & BEHAVIOUR

List the acceptable entry level requirements for the job, in terms of:

• Qualifications and Experience

A Degree (preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Economics or Mathematics) Certificate/License from Persatuan Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia. At least 5 years dealing experience in FX and/or FX Options Trading.

• Skills and Knowledge

Stress tolerance Swift trading decision making and discipline money management trading strategy. Portfolio Management, especially Fixed Income portfolio management. Analytical skills Technical analysis and Fundamental Analysis. Treasury Products Bloomberg and Reuters.
