Job Description
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader to step into challenging and rewarding assignments, from stabilizing operations and leading site transformations to supporting new facility startups and major business initiatives. - Lead and be accountable for the health and safety of all employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring strict adherence to corporate and legislative requirements.
- Champion the continuous improvement of safety performance, aligned with Brambles’ Zero Harm initiative, while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- In collaboration with the maintenance team oversee equipment reliability across the site ensuring operational continuity and efficiency.
- Ensure full compliance with all task-specific responsibilities outlined in CHEP procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols, maintaining operational consistency.
- Drive the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement processes to optimize plant performance in areas such as safety, quality, and cost control.
- Maintain site security and ensure compliance with service center requirements, including managing storage, stock levels, and movement of materials and equipment.
- Manage, lead, and develop plant staff, fostering accountability and ensuring that all team members meet or exceed performance expectations as outlined in job descriptions and agreements.
- Ensure that customer expectations, both internal and external, are consistently met or exceeded through effective management of plant operations.
This position is responsible for rapid, high impact leadership intervention to stabilize operations, cover vacancies, or drive turnaround.
What You Will Do
Major/Key Accountabilities:
Full site leadership (production, safety, cost, quality, service)
First 90-day execution planning and translating network priorities into plant execution
Deployable to any plant within US Service Center Network for months at a time
Possible short-term assignments and scenarios include, but not limited to:
Open plant leadership vacancies
Automation implementations
Underperforming or turnaround sites
Transitions / conversions
M&A site integration, startups or closures
New leader support
Hypercare support
Step into site leadership immediately and lead turnaround or underperforming interventions
Stabilize operations and improve KPIs quickly
Coach site leadership teams while driving CI and turnaround initiatives
Support Site openings, conversations and transformations
Fill leadership gaps (PM or Operational Supervisors)
Prepare site for permanent PM Placement
Own full plant P&L
What You Will Bring
Experience:
7 to 10 years’ experience in Plant/Site Leader roles in manufacturing or similar production environment
Proven ability to run stable, performing site
Strong people leader with consistent execution and history
Continuous Improvement/Lean and operational excellence experience strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Skills and Knowledge:
Deep operational execution experience
Rapid Situational assessment ability
Strong turnaround skills
High mobility and travel flexibility
Strong turnaround and crisis leadership capability
Ability to establish credibility quickly
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and complex situations
What To Expect
Additional Details:
Ability to lead a team of both hourly and salaried staff including direct and indirect scope up to 100 employees
Ability to travel up to 75% within the U.S.
Willingness to be deployed with short notice and be stationed at a particular location for potentially months at a time
