Overview

The PM Safety & Security Supervisor shall consistently provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests while providing leadership, direction, and operational oversight of Safety & Security activities primarily during PM and evening operating periods. This position supports the Safety Committee and Safety & Security team in the areas of guest service, training, safety awareness, OSHA standards, emergency procedures, scheduling, officer deployment, performance management, incident response, and daily departmental operations. A primary responsibility is to manage and coordinate Safety & Security operations during all hours of operation of The Nectar Room, ensuring an appropriate security presence and maintaining a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for guests, team members, performers, vendors, and other authorized individuals. The position also assists in directing activities related to the overall safety and security of the property in compliance with applicable company standards and governmental requirements, while ensuring departmental procedures are consistently performed to hotel and company standards and serving as an ambassador for Lake Nona Wave Hotel.

Responsibilities

· Serve as a knowledgeable first responder for onsite accidents and incidents involving guests, team members, vendors, and visitors, taking prompt and appropriate action in accordance with departmental and company procedures.

· Maintain thorough knowledge of scheduled group activities, hotel occupancy, facilities and services, hours of operation, property layout, fire and emergency plans, and departmental and company policies.

· Conduct effective pre-shift briefings to communicate pertinent operational, safety, security, and incident-related information and ensure proper follow-up between shifts.

· Provide safety escorts for team members in accordance with established departmental standards.

· Ensure after-hours deliveries and access to secured hotel areas are properly authorized, monitored, and documented in accordance with departmental and property procedures.

· Work cooperatively and professionally with outside agencies, including law enforcement, emergency responders, and government authorities, while following established departmental and company protocols.

· Monitor surveillance systems, conduct routine and directed property patrols, and respond to duress alarms and other security-related notifications assigned.

· Conduct investigations involving theft, lost property, noise complaints, assaults, food safety concerns, guest complaints, and other incidents, and complete accurate and timely reports in accordance with departmental procedures.

· Manage and coordinate Safety & Security operations during The Nectar Room’s hours of operation, including officer deployment, access control, crowd monitoring, incident response, and coordination with venue and hotel leadership to help maintain a safe and professional environment for guests, team members, performers, vendors, and other authorized individuals.

· Conduct monthly property safety meetings with a structured agenda and appropriate follow-up on identified concerns and action items.

· Organize and conduct monthly departmental meetings with a structured agenda to support communication, training, accountability, and operational consistency.

· Conduct daily property life-safety inspections, document identified deficiencies, communicate findings to the appropriate departments, and track corrective actions through completion.

· Coordinate and conduct quarterly fire drills in partnership with the Engineering Department.

· Ensure all mandatory Safety & Security officer training is completed accurately and within required deadlines.

· Document, organize, secure, and maintain all lost-and-found property received by Safety & Security; respond to guest inquiries and coordinate the return of items in accordance with hotel procedures.

· Safeguard the confidentiality of all departmental reports, records, and documentation, releasing information only to authorized individuals on a need-to-know basis.

· Maintain accurate and complete departmental daily logs and ensure all Safety & Security officers complete required reports, documentation, and end-of-shift responsibilities before leaving duty.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience).

· Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a high-volume setting preferred.

· Previous hospitality experience in a Four Diamond quality organization preferred.

· Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving background/criminal history record.

· Knowledge of local laws, investigative methods, and fire safety practices.

· Valid certification in CPR and first aid or the ability to obtain certification.

· Certification in alcohol awareness program or ability to obtain one.

· Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write in the basic English language.

· Ability to effectively communicate and provide directions in a clear, concise, and professional manner in both verbal and written form.

· Demonstrate ability to compute basic arithmetic.

· Must be available to work varied shifts and flexible schedules.

 

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

· While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to walk, stand, and sit 6-8 hours per day and may have exposure to basic office supply chemicals.

· The team member is occasionally required to climb and use balance. Additionally, they will frequently be asked to use their hands and arms to reach, carry, pull, and lift up to 35 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

· The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

· While performing the duties of this job, the team member will experience temperature fluctuations (rain, wind, heat, humidity), and moderate to high noise levels.
