You will be working on a flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement. 

The work location for this role is 483 Bay Street in Toronto until approximately late 2026, when the work location will change to the new Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway.

Business Overview

The Architecture team is tasked with delivering technology solutions that correspond with our divisional strategy. Furthermore, the team directs the development of Fidelity Investments Canada’s technology vision and strategy. This involves investigating a broad spectrum of technologies and business focus areas including AI, data warehouse, data integration, master data, big data, cloud services, data governance and quality, security, and operational efficiency.

What You Will Do

The Senior Cloud Architect role is responsible for defining and advancing the organization's cloud architecture standards, reference models, and technology solutions. This role works closely with business and technology stakeholders to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud platforms that align with enterprise architecture principles, cloud strategies, and technology roadmaps.

  • Overall alignment with enterprise cloud strategy, a key responsibility involves technology solutions in addition to close collaboration with our international partners
  • Defining the cloud architecture framework, standards, and principles, including cloud platforms, networking, security, identity and access management, infrastructure automation, resiliency, governance, and operational excellence.
  • Establishing cloud reference architectures, reusable patterns, and technology standards to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions across the enterprise
  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications, including cloud architecture patterns, AI/ML frameworks, data ingestion pipelines, system integrations, transformations and migrations
  • Collaborate with development and engineering teams for GenAI/LLM integration, AI-enabled automation and analytics, and Machine Learning Operations (MLOps)
  • Identify knowledge gaps and conduct/coordinate/recommend training sessions on new cloud technologies with technology teams
  • Build “trusted advisor” relationships with development, technology teams and the business
  • Ensure all architecture documents are complete in accordance with established methodologies
  • Identify and promote technologies that improve business processes or contribute to new business opportunities
  • Lead in the design and implementation of core cloud infrastructure components for IS systems
  • Follow defined processes for software development, integration, and deployment
  • Active involvement in long-term planning to ensure Fidelity Canada’s enterprise IT landscape is well positioned to deliver solutions that meet current and future business needs

What We’re Looking For

  • University Degree/College Diploma, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Cloud Architect
  • Experience in the financial sector is an asset
  • Skilled in AWS cloud platform, hybrid systems, and protocols related to AI governance, data governance and security
  • Demonstrated experience in platform engineering, including the development of enterprise cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, observability, and developer self-service capabilities to support large-scale cloud adoption and modernization initiatives
  • Demonstrated expertise with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies, supporting cloud modernization, microservices adoption, platform engineering initiatives, and DevOps practices
  • Experience designing and enterprise cloud networking architectures, including multi-region connectivity, hybrid cloud integration, traffic management, network security, and high-availability solutions
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering complex on-premises to cloud migrations, including legacy application modernization, containerization, platform rehosting, replatforming, and hybrid cloud integration
  • Strong proficiency in Terraform, cloud automation, and GitOps practices, enabling reliable, repeatable, and auditable deployments across AWS and hybrid cloud environments
  • Experience working with architecture enterprise management platforms (LeanIX preferred)

  • Deep expertise in enterprise, application, infrastructure, and cloud architecture, including current and emerging cloud-native technologies, patterns, and best practices
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management, Zero Trust security principles, encryption, resiliency, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Deep expertise in AWS cloud services and architecture patterns, including compute, networking, storage, databases, container platforms, serverless technologies, security, and observability, with the ability to design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective enterprise solutions
  • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and architecting AWS environments using services such as Amazon EC2, VPC, EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, Route 53, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch, Bedrock and AWS Organizations
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confident and engaging presentation abilities

For this role, your total rewards include:

  • Base Salary and Discretionary Performance Bonus: A competitive annual range of $123,000 to $158,000, based on your experience and qualifications.
  • RRSP Contribution: After 6 months of employment, we invest in your future with an RRSP contribution—no employee matching required.
