Forklift Test Driver – Contract Position

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has a contract position opening for a forklift test driver in our Fairview, Oregon facility. HYMH designs, engineers, manufactures, sells and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks under the Hyster and Yale brand names.

We are seeking qualified applicants to test drive forklifts.  This position involves reliability and validation testing of prototype and production forklifts.

The following position is currently available:

Third shift – Sunday night through Thursday night (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) with a paid 30 minute lunch.  May involve possible weekend overtime when testing projects are in high demand.

Job description:

Drive forklifts following course maps and instructions.

  • Keep accurate, legible, and knowledgeable test logs to communicate observations and events to technicians and engineers.

  • Perform simple facility or vehicle maintenance duties as assigned.

  • Follow safety procedures.

  • Follow written and verbal instructions.

Forklift or heavy equipment driving experience is preferred. You must be able to multi-task with the use of lots of different hand and foot controls (think riding a motorcycle or a quad).
