Overview

As Manager Air Export you will ensure the smooth and timely processing of all export shipments, maintaining full oversight of operational flow and proactively resolving any exceptions as they arise. You will also be responsible for optimizing and safeguarding the documentation of all procedures and processes, making sure that standards are consistently applied and continuously improved. In addition, you will maintain and further develop relationships with existing customers, while also taking an active role in acquiring new customers and expanding the commercial footprint of the department.

Responsibilities

• Management, organization, and coordination of the export department 
• Optimization of processes and procedures 
• Securing a high level of customer satisfaction while complying with customer-specific processes and procedures 
• Customer support and consulting as well as acquisition of new customers 
• Leading, supporting, evaluating, and training employees 
• Management of the export department in organizational and technical terms 
• Bookings of air cargo shipments with the airlines 
• Supporting and advising customers 
• Preparation of calculations and analyses as well as presentations 
• Carrying out customs clearance 
• Handling correspondence with customers, agents, and service providers 
• Organization of different transports 
• Conducting negotiation and sales meetings 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or a completed commercial training in freight forwarding 
• Completed education in freight forwarding or in business administration 
• Experience in international freight forwarding
• Experience in commercial assistance of advantage   
• Fluent oral and written German and English is a must
• Additional (major) European languages would be an asset
• Accurate, efficient, and independent way of working 
• Organizational talent as well as analytical skills 
• Quick perception and open for changes 
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
