*Starting rate is $13.00 per hour

POSITION DESCRIPTION :

This position is responsible for supporting the successful operation of the YMCA Café by coordinating daily operational processes, maintaining café standards, managing inventory and supplies, and supporting Café Associates in delivering a consistent, welcoming member experience.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Coordinate daily café operations, ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for members and guests. 
• Manage inventory processes, including monitoring product levels, placing supply orders, receiving deliveries, and maintaining appropriate stock levels. 
• Maintain organized storage areas and supplies are properly stored and available for daily operations. 
• Ensure menu items are prepared and served consistently according to established recipes, quality standards, health and safety regulations.
• Monitor compliance with YMCA policies, health department regulations, sanitation standards, and café operating procedures.
• Train and support Café Associates on menu procedures, service expectations, safety practices, and daily operational standards. 
• Assist with training Café Associates.
• Communicate operational needs, concerns, and updates between café staff and YMCA leadership. 
• Track product usage, inventory needs, and other café information to support operational decision-making. 
• Provide customer service and assist with café service during busy periods or staffing needs. 
• Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors, and volunteers.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the YMCA Café.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be certified in CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
• Must complete all required annual compliance training within 30 days of hire and renewed annually. 
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a service-oriented environment. 
• Basic math skills and the ability to accurately handle cash and process transactions. 
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 30 pounds.
