The Associate Investigator utilizes NIR, IR, Raman, data science and modeling expertise to enable R&D, and manufacturing decisions, troubleshooting, and problem solving. Designs and conducts research across multiple project areas using in-depth knowledge and proactive application of scientific principles, theory and experimental design.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with our key stakeholders to provide analytical expertise, knowledge, and solutions to advance decisions, projects and products.
Design and execute experiments, analyses and chemometric quantitative modeling.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to solve complex analytical problems.
- Partner with resource leaders and stakeholders to ensure alignment on analytical deliverables, milestones, and timelines.
- Effectively communicate results, status, updates to stakeholders.
- Escalate resource, project, timelines issues as soon as possible to resource leader(s).
- Drive innovation and technology through the evaluation, development, and implementation of new techniques, workflows, and/or instrumentation.
- Provide input on analytical and capital strategies.
- Influence internal and external environment through presentations and publications.
- Follow defined document management practices and workflows.
What Skills You Need:
- BS, MS in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or other relevant disciplines
- Minimum two years relevant work experience with analytical chemistry techniques
- Strong background and knowledge in NIR, IR, Raman, NMR, and/or Mass Spectrometry.
- Experience in Python/programming, data science experience (PCA/PLS).
- Experience in PLS/chemometrics experience desired.
- Proficiency in utilizing scientific methodology to solve technical problems.
- Ability to manage broad scope of activities including, conducting experiments, participating effectively in a team environment, assisting scientists from other disciplines with experimental design, and managing multiple stakeholders
- Ability to effectively interact with customers, peers, plant personnel, R&D, scale-up personnel, and industrial experts.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, networking, and computer skills to extract, evaluate data, and make sound technical decisions.
- Ability to communicate and document research results in reports, presentations, and publications.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear objectives and establish practical action plans.
