Description

As a Leisure Planning Specialist at Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW), you will be responsible for making meaningful moments for Owners, members, and guests. You will engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offerings. Provides concierge services to all location guests and encourage participation in a Sales Presentation Tour. Provides information about the Sales Presentation Tour to guests. Provides attraction, theme park, and event tickets for sale to all guests and uses effective sales techniques to drive sales volume. Provides directions to the sales center for package tour guests or makes transportation arrangements.

You will add to the success of the MVW team by maintaining high standards and providing the best service. You will need to have a flexible schedule, communicate clearly with coworkers and guests, and follow the company's rules in all situations. This position may require a background check and/or drug screen contingent on company policy and state and local requirements. Specific job duties may differ by property, size of team, or facility. JOB REQUIREMENTS

Physical Ability— Perform physical tasks such as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. Reach overhead and below the knees, perform bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, and be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.

Work Schedules— Maintain availability to work a fluctuating schedule, based on business needs, which may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education, Certification, or Licenses Preferred – High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent preferred. 1 year of related work experience is preferred but not required. No Supervisory Experience is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Marketing and Sales

  • Offers tickets to local attractions, theme parks, and events for sale to guests.

  • Provides relevant information about the Sales Presentation Tour and answer any questions about the tour.

  • Engages guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offerings.

  • Provides detailed information about property amenities.

  • Recommends local restaurants and activities based on customer preferences.

  • Offers to provide reservation services for local restaurants, golf courses, tours, or other attractions.

  • Assists other associates to ensure proper coverage and prompt customer service.

Communication

  • Discusses work topics, activities, or problems with coworkers, supervisors, or managers discreetly and quietly, avoiding public areas of the property.

  • Prepares and reviews written documents (e.g., daily logs, business letters, memoranda, reports), including proofreading and editing written information to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Talks with and listens to other associates to effectively exchange information.

Computer Skills

  • Uses multiple computer systems and software packages to cross reference, input, access, modify, store, or output information.

  • Enters and retrieves data from computer systems using a keyboard, mouse, or trackball.

Guest Experience and Company Standards

  • Addresses guests' service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner.

  • Welcomes and acknowledges each and every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name when possible.

  • Answers guest's questions about property facilities/services (e.g., hours of operation, rates and room types, packages, promotions, entertainment, restaurants, and special events).

  • Speaks to guests and coworkers using clear, appropriate, and professional language.

  • Actively listens and responds positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests using brand or property-specific processes to resolve issues, delight, and build trust.

  • Answers telephones using appropriate etiquette including answering the phone within 3 rings, answering with a smile in one's voice, using the caller's name, transferring calls to the appropriate person/department, requesting permission before placing the caller on hold, taking and relaying messages, and allowing the caller to end the call.

  • Performs other reasonable job duties as requested.
