Directs the optimization of security engineering functions to support the organization’s technology ecosystem for a team of lower-level security engineering managers. Oversees the design, implementation, and support of cybersecurity technologies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with business objectives to deliver secure and reliable technology solutions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Directs the execution of short- to mid-term operational plans for the cybersecurity engineering job area, aligning team objectives and priorities with strategies set by senior leadership.
2. Manages the design, development, and deployment of cybersecurity solutions and frameworks for direct team, ensuring consistency, quality, and reuse across multiple manager-led teams.
3. Coordinates and oversees threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing activities for supported platforms and services, ensuring effective coverage and measurable risk reduction.
4. Oversees the integration and incremental improvement of information security technologies within the job area, monitoring adoption, performance, and lifecycle activities.
5. Provides input to senior managers and key functional stakeholders on security issues and risk trade-offs within the job area, translating established strategies into detailed, executable plans.
6. Partners with internal teams and designated external vendors or service providers to ensure the job area’s activities align with cybersecurity standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
7. Applies and upholds established security policies, standards, and best practices across the job area, monitoring adherence and addressing gaps in partnership with team managers.
8. Directs crisis management, incident response, and forensic activities for incidents within direct team, ensuring managers follow defined playbooks, escalate appropriately, and capture lessons learned.
9. Develops and coaches lower-level managers and senior engineers across the job area, reinforcing expectations for delivery, collaboration, innovation, accountability, and performance.
10. Contributes to technology, risk management, and compliance decisions affecting the job area, providing feedback and recommendations into broader security plans and priorities defined by leadership.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience in cybersecurity, information technology, or related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles.
3. Deep expertise in cybersecurity principles, threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing.
4. Experience with information security technologies, configuration management, and operational handoff.
5. Advanced management and leadership knowledge to manage multiple teams and drive tactical and operational security initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Advanced certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH).
2. Experience with security automation and orchestration tools.
3. Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
4. Familiarity with emerging cybersecurity technologies and trends.
5. Prior experience in a technical security engineering role within enterprise environments.
