Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team in Durban. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently, while providing exceptional customer service. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and provide a positive and welcoming experience
• Scan and process customer purchases accurately and efficiently
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions
• Ensure correct pricing and discounts are applied to items
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
• Assist with bagging and packing items for customers
• Answer customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints
• Promote company promotions and loyalty programs to customers
• Follow all cash handling and security procedures
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of the store
• Complete additional tasks assigned by the store manager or supervisor

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Cashier or in a customer service role is preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent math and computer skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle cash and operate a cash register
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
