Dental Hygienist - Care Mobile - Part Time

We are looking for a dependable, dedicated, and respectful Dental Hygienist to provide Dental care to our Care Mobile patients. Offering a competitive hourly rate of $45 to $48, this part-time position follows Lee and Hendry counties’ school calendar, making it an ideal opportunity for professionals seeking great work-life balance. When school is in session, the schedule is typically 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday. You will enjoy scheduled time off during school breaks—including but not limited to Fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring breaks—while summer hours shift to an "as-needed" basis for daycares and summer camps. Please note that this is a part-time position without benefits. POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The primary function of the Dental Hygienist is to examine, chart, take radiographic surveys, and perform periodontal therapies on patients. The Dental Hygienist is directly responsible to the Dentists for assignment of duties which include patient care and domestic chores. The Dental Hygienist supervises her own patient therapy but communicates patient needs and appointments with the Dentists, and coordinates duties and responsibilities with the Dentists and other dental ancillary personnel.

DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform initial intra and extra-oral exam of the hard and soft tissue.
• Document/chart existing restoration, carious lesions and any other findings.
• Complete health history with blood pressure.
• Perform periodontal therapies, periodontal health instruction.
• Perform screening examinations for school children.
• Sterilization of instruments and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist dentists when needed.
• Answer telephone when needed.

Requirements

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent training and experience.
• A two or four year degree of Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
• Florida Board of Dentistry license.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bilingual skills English/Spanish preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Manual dexterity and use of proper instrumentation in the performance of dental therapies.
• Good patient and staff rapport.
