Senior Full Stack Engineer - Shenzhen

Purpose of Position

• We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer (backend-weighted) to join the Retail Tech team within Digital Technology. You will own complex features and integrations across our retail and omnichannel stack — connecting store and enterprise systems (POS, OMS, ERP, WMS, payment gateways) with digital commerce channels.As an Senior Engineer, you will lead subsystem design, build and maintain robust backend services and supporting frontend surfaces, mentor junior engineers, and drive initiatives that keep retail operations reliable at scale. You will stay hands-on across the stack, with most of your impact through backend architecture, APIs, and integration quality. Additionally, this role requires participation in an on-call rotation to ensure the continuous reliability of our critical systems.

Job Description

• Full stack delivery (backend-weighted): Design and build backend microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and event-driven integrations connecting retail and D2C channels with internal systems (OMS, ERP, inventory, POS, WMS, payments). Implement and maintain supporting frontend/admin or internal tooling where needed.
• Subsystem ownership & architecture: Lead end-to-end execution of complex retail/omnichannel features — from technical design through deployment. Translate business requirements into scalable, high quality, fault-tolerant solutions; own at least one integration domain (e.g. order sync, inventory, catalog/pricing, or POS↔digital).
• Omnichannel data sync: Ensure reliable, near-real-time sync of orders, inventory, product catalogs, pricing, and customer data across online channels and physical retail touchpoints; handle failure modes, retries, and idempotency.
• Quality & production ownership: Conduct thorough code reviews; champion unit/integration testing, observability, and runbooks; participate in on-call and production incident response for retail-critical paths; reduce technical debt in core integration services.
• Mentorship & collaboration: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; improve team engineering practices. Partner with Product, Solution Architects, QA, and adjacent teams (DCOM, Data, Production & Supply Chain) to deliver quarterly initiatives.
  
  
  

Requirement

• Experience
• 4–6+ years in full stack or backend software development, with strong backend fundamentals.
• Track record in e-commerce, retail, omnichannel, or enterprise integration systems.
• Must Have
• Backend: APIs (REST/GraphQL), microservices, webhooks, event-driven / async integration patterns.
• Full stack: Comfortable delivering supporting frontend or internal admin UI (React/Vue or equivalent — adjust to your stack).
• Database (RDS or NoSQL DB): performance tuning, query optimization, production debugging.
• Production mindset: Code review, automated testing, documentation, incident troubleshooting.
• Communication: Fluent written and spoken English & Chinese.
• Working style: Self-directed, detail-oriented, accountable for deadlines and production quality.
• Nice to have
• Retail systems: POS, OMS, ERP, WMS, payment gateway integrations.
• Commerce platforms: Shopify Plus, headless commerce, custom commerce backends.
• Cloud & ops: AWS (EC2, RDS, CloudFront), Linux, bash scripting; AWS certification a plus.
