Description

Nura is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and clinically skilled Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our growing pain management team. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced physicians and a multidisciplinary team while providing meaningful, patient-centered care focused on reducing pain, restoring function, and improving quality of life. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, excellent communication and bedside manner, and a genuine commitment to building trusting relationships with patients while continuing to grow professionally in the field of pain management. 

The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for patient care, working under the supervision of and in collaboration with Nura physicians to diagnose symptoms and implement treatment plans to reduce pain and restore function. Perform medical histories, examine and treat patients as part of a healthcare team.  While this role is intended to serve at a particular Nura location, it is within the company’s right to assign staff to other Nura locations when there are staffing shortages.

Requirements

Essential Functions: 

• Ensure safe and compliant clinical and surgical procedures are provided to patients utilizing the following: | Evaluation – elicit a detailed and accurate history; perform an appropriate physical examination; order, perform, and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies; define problems; develop management plans; and record and present data. | Monitoring – implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and participate in the provision of the continuity of care. | Patient Education – counsel and educate patients regarding issues of health care management, to include compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, interventional procedures and ancillary services (i.e. physical therapy, bracing, TENS).
• See New Patients, as needed, accurately complete H&P, HPI, Vitals, Preliminary diagnosis and POC.
• Follow up with existing patients in a timely manner to discuss improvements from a psychological, social, interventional and opioid perspective. 
• Orders radiographic procedures under the direction/supervision of a Nura physician.
• Perform hospital consults on Nura patients as requested by Nura physician and per call schedule.
• Provide appropriate professional referrals to physicians, therapists, and imaging.
• Follow safe clinical procedures and make correct non-compliance issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Document patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Confer with physician on assessment, diagnosis and plan of treatment.
• Ensure timely follow up with patient care by making sure support staff are aware of the Plan of Treatment.
• Maintain contact with referring and primary Physicians. Participate in marketing activities.
• Attend to in-patient consults or admission/discharge orders at credentialed facilities when required by physician.
• Attend regularly scheduled company and peer meetings
• Provide coverage and support to facilities not regularly scheduled to be at.
• Maintain professional credentials and take a leadership role in peer education.
• Staff and peer training and motivation.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of Nura.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

• Desire to serve patients and be self-motivated while exhibiting sound judgment, intellectual honesty, appropriate interpersonal skills and the capacity to react to emergencies in a calm and reasoned manner.  
• Excellent bedside manner, emotional stability, and the ability to make decisions in emergencies.  
• Respect for others, adherence to the concepts of privilege and confidentiality in communicating with patients, and a commitment to the patient’s welfare are essential attributes 
• Strong organizational, communication and analytical skills. 
• Excellent judgment. 
• The ability to contribute in a team environment and to provide excellent customer service. 
• Ability to work independently, meet internal and external deadlines and produce a consistently high-quality product. 
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. 
• Practice Management Software knowledge preferred.
• Continuing Professional Education and Development.

 Licenses & Certifications:

Current RN Licensure/Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination.

Valid ARNP Licensure/PA License

DEA

BLS certified or obtain certification within three months of hire. ACLS certificated or obtain certification within the first year of hire.
