Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Art Center Intern assists various activities at the Art Center, including, but not limited to: assistance with summer children’s camps or after school children’s programs, assistance in the Hot Shop, technique demonstration, cleaning and maintenance, oversight of craft activities with children; assisting with planning and implementing art activities; sorting supplies and checking inventory; monitoring children for safety; cleaning the workspace as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with setting up Gallery Receptions, and Special Events.
- Greets guests and talks to them about artwork.
- Assists with maintaining inventory of event department supplies, including equipment and materials to ensure efficiency in the department.
- Assists with breaking down events as needed.
- Maintains and updates Events Calendar.
- Communicates well with Artists.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of current art trends, techniques.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or its equivalent.
- Possess a valid Driver's License
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, and other nonstandard hours when necessary
- Having experience in working with children is essential.
