Meets department standard of 98% accuracy rate when identifying, scheduling, and registering patients. Able to collect 30% of eligible copayments Able to rotate and support all PAS areas Displays an understanding/sensitivity to each patient’s unique cultural needs. Demonstrates independence, proficiency, and accuracy with all scheduling and registration processes ensuring all regulatory and compliance requirements are maintained.
Embraces technological solutions to work processes and practices
Able to function using the department computer programs, including internal/external websites Able to function and have a complete understanding of computer downtime process Able to review, analyze, and act upon insurance eligibility system responses Manage own API ( timecard) system Complete daily workque assignments
Scheduling and registration role
Effectively manages scheduling requests. Ensuring patients are properly identified in the health systems EHR, and scheduled to appropriate appointment type. Able to accurately and independently schedule required appointment types Greet and check in patients after verifying required patient identifiers. Collect co-payment if applicable. Completes with 98% accuracy all required registration items included but not limited to, all demographic requirements, patient identification practices, scanning of required patient information, interpreting and leveraging insurance eligibility systems to ensure appropriate insurance coverage for patient care, leverage Financial Counseling teams as needed. Able to accurately check patients in for elective, emergent, and urgent care. Create and audit daily charts, for same day and next day patients. Transcribe new patient referrals sent by fax from external physician offices. Answer incoming calls, retrieve/return voice mail Daily communication with clinical staff/providers for scheduling updates/changes Maintains the confidentiality and privacy of protected health information consistent with HIPPAA requirements at all times. Order supplies when needed and maintain department office supplies.
Ambulatory Surgical Center support
Verify patient registration and check in daily surgical patients Collect surgical co payments Support surgical clinical team with patient arrivals/family members etc. Escort patients/family member to assigned pre-op area Direct incoming calls Create treatment room charts
Essential Functions

Understanding of Departmental and Hospital policies, procedures and operations in order to assume complex scheduling details. Excellent computer skills required in the use of multi-system programs including Hospital based systems and outside systems, advanced technical skills, as appropriate. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Minimum Education - Preferred
High school diploma preferred, two (2) years of college preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum one (1) year admitting experience to become proficient.
Computer experience required. Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated skills in customer service. Knowledge of medical insurance. Able to demonstate problem solving and critical thinking skills.
