Overall Job Purpose
(brief description of this job)
To be responsible for the on-site collection and entry of dam monitoring data at TSF, Chisola, Musangezhi, Dam 4, Dam 8A and any other facilities specified by management, subject to change. The Dam Monitor shall also be responsible for the pass dam monitoring verification at respective facilities.
Specific Job Responsibility

- Weekly Piezometer readings at the various facilities, i.e Chisola dam, TSF, Musangezhi dam, Enterprise dam 4 and Sentinel dam 8A
- Data entry and verification of readings taken.
- Weekly flow management weir and water level readings at all facilities, i.e. Chisola Dam, Musangezhi Dam, Enterprise Dam 4, TSF and Sentinel Dam 8A.
- Undertake daily dam condition status inspections at the various facilities.
- Report any anomalies observed in monitoring data collected and site observed behaviours of the various facilities.
- Compile dam monitors weekly report and send for review to Senior Specialists, TSF and Water Dams Engineers.
- Undertake routine Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) exercises at request.
- Undertake any other geophysical, geotechnical and investigative exercises requested by Senior Specialists, TSF and Water Dams Engineers, under clear direction, and having received sufficient training.
- Ensure all monitoring infrastructure is in functional condition at all times. Any malfunction and damage must be reported immediately.
- Report any site conditions that may pose a hindrance to dam monitoring exercises. Where practicable, Dam Monitors are responsible for the elimination/isolation of such a hindrance, being supported with necessary resources to eliminate the hindrance.
- Health, safety environmental compliance.
- Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.

- Ability to use a computer; operate Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Piezometer, Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and dumpy level usage.

Experience required to perform in this job

Minimum 3 years’ experience working in monitoring and surveillance of tailings or water dams.
Qualifications
(Academic/ technical and or professional qualification required for the job)
- Full grade twelve (G12) Certificate ZAQA certified
- Valid Zambian Manual driver’s licence
- Water management/TSF/Dam management certificate or related certification.
- TSF & Dams device monitoring certification is an added advantage (i.e. Piezo, Electrical Resistivity Tomography).
