Materials Management Clerk/Transportation Lead

SUMMARY: Supports company mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and policy requirements. Functions as part of the hemodialysis healthcare team in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with the policies and procedures and training and in compliance with regulations set forth by the corporation, state, and federal agencies. This person would be responsible for the total inventory of the dialysis unit and following the budget in purchasing and storage of the supplies needed to run the day-to-day operations of hemodialysis treatments. Secondary duties include ensuring that the dialysis vehicles are maintained and safe for staff and patients.

DUTIES/ACTIVITIES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE:

• Responsible for driving the culture through values and customer service standards.
• Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers.
• Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communications.
• Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve, and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Assist other health care members in providing a safe, clean environment to receive dialysis treatments.
• Ability to work independently with given information and pride in work.
• Dependable and reliable.
• Able to be insured on government insurance, driver's license, no driving offenses.
• This position is considered non-essential services.
• Prepare, organize, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment to prevent waste.
• Do weekly inventory of all supplies in storage rooms and treatment floors. Inventory would include all supplies ordered from all dialysis suppliers as directed by the Unit Manager. Both locations: Macy and Walthill.
• The form to use will be provided to you so that a standardized form is used at both locations.
• There are several deadlines that need to be followed with this job, so organization is very essential.
• The concept of budgets needs to be followed when items and supplies are ordered.
• When the inventory is completed, it is presented to the Unit Manager for review prior to orders being placed.
• When orders are received, they are separated and delivered to the proper unit and put away.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Report any significant information directly to the Unit Manager.
• Manages information utilizing appropriate manual or electronic systems.
• Maintains and updates any necessary records and reports.
• Maintains confidentiality and completes documentation as required.
• Communicates appropriately with unit personnel, patients, and family.
• Completes assigned monthly reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Actively participates in unit staff meetings, in-services, as appropriate.
• Establish a system for vehicle mileage logs review.
• Schedule needed maintenance and repairs for vehicles.
• Ensure vehicles are cleaned and in good working order.
• Coordinate transportation needs of patients with Unit Staff.
• Provide transportation of patients as needed.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. with proper body support.
• Ensure Dialysis vehicles are maintained and safe for patients and staff.
• Follow routine maintenance of facility vehicles.
• Transport patients as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Computer knowledge is required.
• Successful completion of CPR Healthcare recognition.
• Successful understanding of the potentially hazardous/infectious materials, observing and complying with the safety regulations/requirements of the Dialysis Unit.
